9th Grade :: Here's to Kids Who Are Different by Digby Wolfe

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids who don't always get A's
The kids who have ears twice the size of their peers,
And noses that go on for days.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids they call crazy or dumb,
The kids who don't fit,
with the guts and the grit,
Who dance to a different drum.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids with the mischievous streak,
For when they have grown, as history's shown,
It's their difference that makes them unique.

They look awesome and ready. And YES to the poem! If anyone is astute enough to look past the thin veneer, they are ALL different. May they each be appreciated for who they are and the beauty they bring to this world! Love that. Thanks for sharing.

Becky, I'm asking you to explain this to me...how did this happen so fast, that Kaishon is so grown tall, strong, with all that deep wisdom showing through his eyes? I am gobsmacked by his trajectory. Knowing that it's going to happen for Elliot too. We started fifth grade this year and I still miss kindergarten. I love the poem. It so captures how I feel about my child, and me too.
