7th grade

Today you will start the 7th grade.
7th grade.
I'm scared for you Kaish.
Last year was difficult.
Perilous even.
I want this year to be good.
I want you to know every day that you are an awesome person.
An awesome kid.
You are awesome if you have acne.
You are awesome if you don't get all A's or B's or C's.
You are awesome if you don't fit into the cool groups.
Do you hear me?
Do you understand?

You. Are. Awesome.
No matter what.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids who don't always get A's
The kids who have ears twice the size of their peers,
And noses that go on for days.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids they call crazy or dumb,
The kids who don't fit,
with the guts and the grit,
Who dance to a different drum.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids with the mischievous streak,
For when they have grown, as history's shown,
It's their difference that makes them unique.

Digby Wolfe

I am beyond thankful that I have been able to spend so many moments of this summer with you.
I loved your friends and the noise.
Really and truly loved every moment.
There are many important things in my life,
but none of them are as important as you.
You mean the world to me.
I hope 7th grade surprises you with unlimited greatness.
Greatness you can't even begin to fathom.

Hope he gets on just fine and that he enjoys the new class.
I think we Mums /grandparents suffer more than the children, don't you think?

I've got a 7th grader this year, too, and he went back to school after being home schooled for 5 years.

My thoughts and prayers for him are much the same as yours.....hoping and praying for a great year for your boy.
