7th grade

Today you will start the 7th grade.
7th grade.
I'm scared for you Kaish.
Last year was difficult.
Perilous even.
I want this year to be good.
I want you to know every day that you are an awesome person.
An awesome kid.
You are awesome if you have acne.
You are awesome if you don't get all A's or B's or C's.
You are awesome if you don't fit into the cool groups.
Do you hear me?
Do you understand?

You. Are. Awesome.
No matter what.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids who don't always get A's
The kids who have ears twice the size of their peers,
And noses that go on for days.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids they call crazy or dumb,
The kids who don't fit,
with the guts and the grit,
Who dance to a different drum.

Here's to the kids who are different,
The kids with the mischievous streak,
For when they have grown, as history's shown,
It's their difference that makes them unique.

I am beyond thankful that I have been able to spend so many moments of this summer with you.
I loved your friends and the noise.
Really and truly loved every moment.
There are many important things in my life,
but none of them are as important as you.
You mean the world to me.
I hope 7th grade surprises you with unlimited greatness.
Greatness you can't even begin to fathom.

Finding the Sun {flare} Creativity Project

Today, you are going to see our search for sun flare.Photobucket
My three little helpers and I set out on a voyage to find some.
I think I was the only one looking as the helpers seemed rather annoyed by the pursuit.
They kept asking what the prize was for getting the pictures.
I told them it was a big hug from me.
They ran away.
Oh well.
I hope that some day they will look back on this summer and fondly remember the night we chased the light.

Please follow our circle. You will love your visit to Scarlett
She always finds the light.
Catherine (our film shooter from good old Philly) made us a facebook fan page
Go ahead and like it.
You know you want to!

Photobucket Photo Challenge Submission

Two Scottish nuns have just arrived in the USA by boat and one says to the other, "I hear that the people in this country actually eat dogs." "That’s odd," her companion replies, "but if we shall live in America, we might as well do as the Americans do."

Nodding emphatically, the mother superior points to a hot dog vendor and they both walk towards the cart. "Two dogs, please," says one. The vendor is pleased to oblige, wraps both hot dogs in foil, and hands them over the counter.

Excitedly, the nuns hurry to a bench and begin to un-wrap their ‘dogs’. The mother superior begins to blush and, then, staring at it for a moment, leans to the other nun and whispers cautiously, "What part… did you get…?

OwowCow Creamery (the best ice cream in Bucks County)

We heard about a unique ice cream store in Bucks County last week.
OwowCow Creamery
Great name, right?
Kaish isn't much of an ice cream fan but he loved his cone of Sweet Honey Cream.
Naji had Madagascar Vanilla.
(He had to choose between Madagascar, Indonesian or Tahitian Vanilla)
This Creamery is supportive of local farms:

Here are some of the creative flavor concoctions they make:
Rosewater Cardamom
Cilantro Lime
Chai Cream
Lemon Ginger
Cinnamon Bourbon
I hate Chocolate

If you live in the area, check out this incredible ice cream.
Be prepared to be blown away by the choices and flavors.
If you don't live in Bucks County, PA,
