Summer is slip, slip, slippin' away

Do you ever feel like so much is going on and
you don't know how to catch up?
That is sort of how these past few weeks have felt.
Although it is summer and the schedules are theoretically lighter,
ours has been bulging.
The nice thing about summer though-
you can be late : )
by an hour or a day and it is A-OK.
It all works out in the end.

We hope you are:
Catching fireflies and staying up too late.
Dancing and spinning until you feel dizzy.
Laughing and painting and crying for no reason at all.
And most of all
Finding Joy in these sweet Summer days!

Please keep Calli in your prayers this week.
She has 3 more days of radiation to go.

We caught lightning bugs once. Since then, we've been hunkered down in the AC, because if the heat doesn't get you, the mosquitoes will.

But, otherwise, we are soaking in these languid summer days.

More prayers for Calli.

The image of the signs made me smile...FAR too much information and it made me head swim just a little bit.

Summer, I feel, is over.

I feel that I missed it.

Do I regret working at the detention center?

No...

I can't really so that I do.

But I do wish for another week or two before I have to be back for meetings and getting a classroom ready.

Sweet pictures - and I adore the one of the little girl, peeking through the fence. How do you manage to get such perfect shots of so many people?

Enjoy these fleeting summer days. Coming home last night from a little get-away - I noticed how much earlier it was getting dark. Booooo. I crave the light.

Those signs made me laugh! I guess they figure if they make it confusing enough then people will give up in disgust and park elsewhere.

Those signs looks like the signs in DC... IMPOSSIBLE!

Your summer photos make me smile. A lot. The fireflies here seem to be making an exit and soon, we hunker down for Ellie's surgery. I'll live vicariously through your summer fun.

I had those same little people when I was young! My oldest brother was born in 1965, so we have some that date back pretty far!

We catch lightning bugs as often as we can and eat as many popsicles as our bellies allow! I am such a summer girl and I will be crying like a baby come the end! Great shots!

Awesome photos! Yes... you either let the summer slip by and occasionally toss cares to the wind... or you're just playin' with fire like clearly one of your subjects was doing! :)

i'll tell you the truth. the summer is like any other part of the year, except that it's warmer and the wife and daughter both have it off. my wife crams so much in, i'm exhausted.

I totally feel that way Becky. Summer is, as my husband would say, like drinking water out of a fire hydrant. Aug. is less scheduled, so I am going to savor it.

I LOVED the parking sign shot--the building, the angle, the people, and then the signs made me laugh!

Wow, Becky! Your blog has changed so much since I last visited. I love it!

August always leaves me feeling a bit desperate. I hate the sensation that summer is slipping away! We still have too much to do, and I dread the routine, even though I know it's good for us. (Can 6 AM be good for you?) Well, I am determined to make the most of it, anyhow.

NOOOOOO!!!! I don't want summer to end!! :( Totally pouting and stamping my feet.

When do you have the time to work on a new blog look, all the photos you take each week, and have time for your wonderful family? You must have extra energy. Hope your weekend is great.

Summer is definitely slipping away! Kids start school next week. But it's been a good one and we always have Labor Day! (Another camping weekend.)

Great pics as always, of course. That crying kid at the end is awesome. All snotty n stuff.

Cheers,

Casey
