'Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.' ~Don Marquis

A year ago one of my best friends (Drew) told me about this groupon deal for 16x20 canvas prints from Canvas on Demand for $45. Since I am cheap, I jumped on that.
The groupon was expiring at midnight today.
365 days later...

At 11:58 pm I ordered my last one. You are impressed right? 2 minutes to go!! Some people call that procrastination.
I call it normal.

It was so much fun to go through old pictures. I was going to give my brother one and he said 'No thank you! You never get our kids whole faces or bodies in pictures.'  What a weirdo. I told him I was an artist. He told me to give my art to someone else ;  ) His loss!

Do you ever use groupons? What is your best money saving tip? Gary keeps telling me I need to save some : ) Share away!

I hope your weekend is very happy!

Hopefully you captured lots of memories
(and all body parts ; )
with your camera
and even more importantly,
with your heart!

I like coupons! The only thing is most of the time I forget to use them or carry them with me. Becky I love your pictures and I think they are beautiful. =)

Omg!! We must be twins or something Becky cause I was just doing the same thing! Literally just ordered mine--- nothing like waiting until the last minute. lol!! Love it!

Can't be a prophet in your own country! Your photos are beautiful.

Have a great Sunday taking pictures of anything you like. ;) xxx

Great work getting the coupon used in time - I normally find it a week after it expired!

I love your photos, if you lived anywhere near here I would love to have you capture my little monsters.

Your brother is crazy! Your photos are wonderful. :)
I use groupons too. I just got one for a photography class that my daughter and I are going to take together.

I LOVE your shots and I think you ARE an artist with your camera lens!

Oh those tiny scuffed up tennis shoes!

And the baby with the leg - - - be still my heart.

Definitely his loss! =)

I love me a good deal, but I have yet to get into the coupon scene. My one tip on how to save money? Ask yourself before buying something if you need it or if you only want it. =)

Brothers!!! I have two ~ Okay, Becky's brother did you see that last shot of the gorgeous baby??? Or was it ~ that gorgeous shot of that gorgeous baby? ...anyway Becky's right... so there!

Next time, Becky just ask your brothers wife. ;) she will be all over it.

and what's a groupon anyway...I have know idea. I have used coupons ~ I have saved more then half the grocery bill - with four kids ~ 3 being teenagers - I need to do couponing more often. BUT! It's so much work! and I just don't want to. I look for sales.... Don't let Gary talk to my husband he will say the say thing about me. :)

Procrastination: NO! 2 minutes to go? see you had plenty of time. Yay for Becky! and getting it done with time to spare! I would have said you procrastinated if you missed your dead line and then tried to get the company to extend the groupon. That's procrastination...SEE??

I love your photos! even the ones that are just the back of a head...pony tails are artful.

Two things: your brothers weird and your not! So there!

xoxo ;)

Oh for heaven's sake, Becky. I just gave myself a pep talk to never buy those things again. Make myself crazy trying to use them. I have one that expires at the end of June for digitizing my Hi8 videos. After reading the fine print 11.5 months later, we just ran out and bought a 3 tb external hard drive so we could send our old 120 gb drive in with the tapes to put the files on instead of paying $119 for theirs.

BUT--next week my husband and I are going on a photo safari to learn all the secrets of taking photos downtown at night. Got an awesome deal on that! :-)

I just saw that same Groupon deal this week where I live...I haven't hopped on it yet-I've been procrastinating....Go figure. ;) I wonder if it's still available.

My son used to tell me that procrastination should be everyone in our family's middle name...hmm!
As he grew up he would tell me he "works better under pressure" ~ oh well. And I LOVE the 'artsy' shots!!

Procrastination is one of my official hobbies along with looking for a pair of reading glasses. As always, your photos are a work of art. I like fork nose the best.

Oooooh, hopefully you'll post them completed? My husband has the same opinion sometimes...doesn't like heads cut off, or portions of so much! Beautiful photos....I'd love to take a trip down our memory lane soon!

I live out in the *sticks*, so not very many groupons for me.

Love these shots. Your brother is crazy. ;)

Hope you will stop my blog again and submit one of these awesome photos to my photo challenge, Your Sunday Best. I will be forever in your debt! :)

You just reminded me that I've been procrastinating on a photo book that I promised my mom. I really need to work on that! I enjoyed your photos today!

I don't know what a groupon is. Your brother is missing the boat entirely. You are an ARTIST! And a fabulous one at that. Procrastinate? Did you really dare to bring this up? Now your meddling.

i love that you waited until the last minute...literally!

I've done two different Groupons and been really happy with both-- Of course they were for restaurants and I ran right out for dinner ;-)
Love your pics, as always, xo jj

Any of these shots would be beautiful captured on canvas. How needs their whole face photographed? it's art!

For our anniversary, our daughter had our wedding photo enlarged and printed on canvas... it turned out beautifully. Now I'm looking through my photos to find a few to use my groupons.

I <3 groupons. And your photos. As I'm starting to take pics of my own, I'm realizing that having all body parts in a pic is totally overrated.

We are big on doing fun free stuff to save money - Outdoor Jazz fests, free outdoor movies, etc.

We love groupon! Can't wait to see your canvas.

(And, your brother's loss, for sure!)

WHAT????!!! I'd LOVE!!! uou to photograph my Jane from any angle. Her toes to her nose :). His loss, indeed!

PS You ARE an artist. Artists aren't always appreciated, but who cares. You rock your camera! You know what I mean?!

qandlequeen said...

I'm not the coupon person in my house, that's my husband. I'm the one who comes across the coupons two months late. But I do agree that procrastination IS an art.

Loving the pic of the kid holding onto the leg. Too adorable.

Merrill said...

Eh, brothers...what do they know?!? (says the girl who has two of 'em!) Your photographs are gorgeous, simply gorgeous.

I'm all about using coupons these days--especially if the grocery store is doubling them on something that is also on special during the week, or if you can "stack" them (i.e. a manufacturer's coupon combined with a store coupon).

Lots of fun shots here! I'm still learning the "art" of leaving out body parts, but the fun is in the learning and seeing how real artists do it!

Amy said...

I haven't used groupon, yet. What a great deal to get the canvas photos and how cool to have 2 minutes left!!
