It's the end of the world as we know it.

Let's start with this!
Did you see it?
The greatest marriage proposal ever.
So flippin' sweet.
I melted.
I really need to tell you our story one day.
Just trust me when I tell you it was NOTHING like this.
It was more like,
'Yo, Gary, if you don't marry me pronto, I am done.'
And poor Gary was like 'I am not ready.'
And I was like 'You are almost 100, of course you are ready.'
The end.
See what I mean?
No post necessary.
Oh, and I didn't say yo.
I don't really ever say yo.
Do you say yo?

Let's go onto this:
O'doodles.
I just love this place.
It is such a treasure trove in Philly.
And guess what?
Now they are focusing on Autism Awareness and catering to the needs of autistic children.
Please fan them on facebook if you can.

Kaish has been a bear lately.
Not a teddy bear.
Well, unless your teddy bear is grumpy and grizzly.
Holy wow.
My Dad was telling me tonight that he thinks it all boils down to the fact that I let him keep his hair long when he wanted to last year : )
I told him I was pretty sure that it was not the hair.
I am thinking it's puberty.
A good mom would probably not tell everyone in the world  her blogging friends about her grumpy bear... we all know I am not one of those.
(Just ask my neighbor who hates my guts because the kids were throwing paintballs on the street and one got onto his car.)

Spring has been nice this year.
It seems as though it is flying.
I got a note in Kaishon's backpack tonight saying they are having a goodbye party for the fifth graders.
Of course that made me burst into tears.
Of course Kaishon and Jonathon thought that was the most hilarious thing.
They laughed and laughed.
And then they got back to wrestling.

Why are they wrestling so much, you might be wondering.
Well, I made the mistake of talking to them about how some people are saying
Saturday is going to be the end of the world.
They are certain God is not going to let them wrestle in Heaven,
therefore, they are wrestling every spare moment.
They are so funny.

What are you thinking about that?
Do you think the world is going to end on Saturday?
If the world does end, I am going to heaven.
I won't have to worry about
Kaishon's grizzly-ness
our lackluster engagement proposal
or middle school.
Here is a link to what I believe if you have any questions about the world ending on Saturday.
I don't believe the world is going to end, but knowing people are so adamant about it, has made me think.
Maybe it is making you think too.

Happy Friday.
Wishing you the happiest weekend.

I believe the world might end on Saturday. I believe the world might not end on Saturday. I absolutely believe Matthew 24 where it says, "About that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

If that is the day the Father has chosen, I know I am going to heaven. If it's not the day, I know I'm going to Canada to spend the day shopping. :)

I had heard of the proposal but hadn't watched the video. I think it's sweet. But I am so not a public proposal person. So I am OK with my husband's "Hey, wanna get married?" question.

Yo, I'm not down with this whole world ending thing that is supposed to start on Saturday ; ) . Will you still make blog posts in heaven? I love your pics and your sweet and funny words.

Love you photographs!

All I know is that I have a request in for us to be next door neighbors, so if it ends, we'll finally be able to sit out on the front porch and talk. I don't know about you, but I want MY place to have a front porch; what would Heaven be with front porches? And your photos.. oh my gosh Becky. What are you doing over there? A ton of workshops? Or a private tutor? Or just all of those amazing blogs that you find and follow... giving you inspiration? Whatever it is, keep it up, because YOU are fast becoming one of the best photographers that I know!

Awesome proposal....mine was nothing like that! I think your right about your sweet son....it's tough being a kid! My daughter has been well how to say this nicely...umm witchy!

Love your shots as always! And if the world is ending so is my diet! I certainly am not ready for the end...so I hope Monday comes!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Which world am I in?? No, I didn't know that the world is ending!! And if it does, I am coming along with you to heaven...:D
I saw the proposal yesterday and it brought tears to my eyes!!

Visiting from Easy Street. I had to chuckle at the reason the boys were wrestling! Might as well get it all in while you can, huh? :D

Don't we all go through the grumpies??? He will get through it and you will survive. I remember a time or two that I wanted to send my girls elsewhere.
Um, the world is NOt going to end this week. promise.

And as far as proposals...I still have not had one. Really. He never asked. And we have our 20th anniversary soon. Of course, he denies this...the proposal not the anniversary.

Loved your post today (but then, I always love your posts!). Adorable marriage proposal - I hadn't seen that. I won't go into how hard puberty has been on my son - good grief, the mood swings! I feel like I'm living with two different people! At least their won't be puberty in heaven :) Amazing photos today, as always!

LOL... love your marriage proposal! I do not say yo. :) Great photos of the moo moos. Hope you have a great weekend Becky. ♥

That is an absolutely darling proposal. I think the pressure is sad though. I think there is more pressure to even be more creative about how you ask a girl to prom than there ever used to be about a marriage proposal. We have raised the bar on expectations ridiculously high over things that are not so important, and we have ridiculously low expectations about things that are of immense importance. If I were a worrier, that's the kind of stuff I would worry about. And if I were a worrier, I still don't think I would worry about the world ending on Saturday. Love your post, and loving the comments today too. Awesome little community you have here. :-) That long hair of Kaish's is for fluffing when he grumps. Give him an extra fluff for Tracy P. and laugh in spite of him!

Asking the dad for his daughter's hand in marriage was a nice gesture. I wish the happy couple much happiness.

I really love O'doodles fan page! Thank you for sharing it with me. I've started a collection of Autism things I think they'd like and I am coming to visit sometime in July or
August to bring them with the contact names of where they can be purchased! And maybe we can meet! Thats a plus!

i couldn't get the sound to work, but even without it i cried. what a KEEPER! can you imagine how surreal that was for her. thanks for sharing.

oh and about the end of the world. the Bible clearly states that no man knows the time or hour of when the Lord will return. He's not going to let that man steal his thunder.

What do I think about the world ending? I just want to be ready when it's time for mine to.

I want to feel I did the work He has given me, and I was faithful.

I want to finish my race well.

No man knows that day or hour, but one thing I do know...seems like the time is growing closer to that day.

I want to live like that.

Sorry about all the restlessness, I think all the kids go through this at this time of the years. They have been in that desk way too long.

Time to get out and have some summer fun!!

Look forward to all your posts!!

grumpy, grizzly boys??? I don't know 'nuthin 'bout those ... ;-)

hang in there, Becky. I'd tell you it only gets worse, but, hey, that wouldn't be very encouraging, would it???

I love great proposals. My love is a private person. I wrote and memorized a 48 line poem/proposal, whisked her off to a mountain retreat, got down on my knees and did it the old fashioned way.

Cheers,

Casey

No worries from me about the world ending...I KNOW where I'm heading if it does! As far as Kaishon being "moody"...trust me...it's the age. Abby is 14 and she's been that way a lot lately. I think it's hormonal, plus she's ready for school to be O-VER! Hang-in-there, Becky...things are bound to get better!

Gigi said...

That proposal just did me in!!! Tears, whole nine yards!

Kaish - the love that he is, is "at that age" and it has nothing to do with his hair. Trust me. He will be fine. Puberty isn't easy for them or us. But you will get through it.

The world ending tomorrow - well, if that's the case then I'm putting off the laundry until Sunday. Which means I will have a MOUNTAIN of laundry on Sunday.

And "yo?" Nope, not a word in my vocabulary.

Not worried if this world ends...I have a really BIG BIG house to go to! We will be married 30 years next month...so glad I said I do when he asked! Great video!

Stacey said...

I'm not worried about the world ending.

I teach 5th grade and can tell you that they are moody, growing but kid-like, and very ready for school to be over. The boys wrestle daily and girls think they are dumb. It never ends. :)

We had the 5th grade end of the year party today. I'm going to miss them terribly!

Since the Bible tells us that no one knows the hour and the day of Christ's return except the Father Himself, I don't expect the world to end this Saturday based on someone's prediction. So... Have a happy Saturday! :)

Thank you for the video!!! I'm such a romantic sucker and yes, I totally cried. And watched it twice, lol!!!

I can't believe the school year is almost over. What a ride it's been!!!

I don't think the world is going to end either. The whack-a-doodle said the global earthquakes would start at 6pm local time, and the first zone is in New Zealand - and the time has come and gone already! Whew!

Doesn't matter - what will be will be and I'm satisfied with that! Hugs!

That really may be the best proposal ever! I'm in love with your photo of the three trees! Beautiful post!

Love all your pics and I just want to kiss on those babies. Held a newborn last night and started itching. {SIGH} Your marriage proposal sounds about like mine. ;)

Thanks for the link to O'doodles! We'll have to plan a trip there someday. My son would be in heaven! Oh, and speaking of Heaven...I don't think the world is going to end, but I've had that R.E.M. song in my head for days.

Puberty = Grumpiness for sure

Nope the world isn't ending tomorrow which happens to be today and I'm typing, so.......on it goes.

BTW...tickles sometimes work!

Everyone else has said it too. We won't know the time or day of the rapture. It will come when God says its time. I'm ready for whenever.
Hormones raging and summer vacation just around the corner...a combo worth wrestling over. (:0)

Oops, forgot to say that the pix are supurb. I so wanted to just hug those sweet babies and the Yawn is priceless.

I don't envy Kaish at all! He'll survive, we all did. Besides, he has you in his corner!
Loved the menagerie of photos in this post. You must have been crawling around through the grass!Great shots' Loved the three tree pic.....reminds me of one I did while in Vancouver many moons ago.

Super sweet proposal...I was in my pj's studying for a test. Not super romantic at all...but I wouldn't change it. Your boy has the end of school year itches...that's all!
