How much is that Doggy in the Window?

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
by: Susan F. Roman, Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul

One afternoon, I was in the back yard hanging the laundry when an old, tired-looking dog wandered into the yard. I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home. But when I walked into the house, he followed me, sauntered down the hall and fell asleep in a corner.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back. He resumed his position in the hallway and slept for an hour.

This continued for several weeks. Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: "Every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap."

The next day he arrived with a different note pinned to his collar: "He lives in a home with ten children - he's trying to catch up on his sleep."

Oh he is tooooo cute!!!! When I was 13 I desperately wanted a bulldog so one day, my dad came home from work with one for me. I still have him. His name is Rocky and he is made of cement and lives in the garden.

Awesome Pic. And so spill it on the story/joke. Where did it come from? Real or Memorex?

This story is priceless and sweet! How do you come up with these fantastic experiences and photos Becky!? I just smiled reading it! It is so like your dear heart to let the doggie come in for a nap each day! Thanks for sharing this. The black/white is perfect!

This is so funny! It reminds me of a former neighbor's cat ran over to sleep at our house eventually only going home daily for a very quick meal and running back to us again. We had her heart for several years until they moved away and would not leave her.

Cute story, Becky! I love the photo of the Bulldog. I don't think I could ever own one, though. All that drool! Drool makes me cringe. *shudder* (Have you taken Kaish to see 'Rio' yet?) My kids loved the bulldog.
