Cake, Cake, and more Cake {the Cake Boss}

Souderton Area Education Foundation
presents
(a cake decorating celebration)
Look where I went today:
Look who I met there!
Mauricio Castro from Carlos' Bakery of the Cake Boss on TLC.
Just look at the cakes. AMAZING. Seriously amazing!
I went to high school with the owner of Saucy Little Redhead Cakes
If you would like to like my friend Sarah's facebook page she would be elated!
This cake is from our local Landis Supermarket in Telford.
This cake is from Henning's Market. I met the baker. She was very sweet.

This is Mauricio's son, Buddy. Isn't he cute?

'Life is uncertain.  Eat dessert first.'  ~Ernestine Ulmer

What is your favorite kind of cake?
Sadly, there aren't too many kinds I don't like,
but chocolate with buttercream icing makes me smile super big!

Oh my word, I am smiling! My little teacher's heart is so happy.

I love cake. I love German chocolate a lot, but I'm gonna say a really good carrot cake--dense and with raisins and really yummy cream cheese frosting. :-)

Jen said...

Hahaha.... he looks just like Buddy. Those cakes look ALMOST too good to eat! Looks like lots of fun!

Love the When Teachers Dream!
Love the quote! Sometimes I eat dessert first AND last.
How fun that you were able to see and meet those bakers, and Buddy. :)
Here is just one example of my exceptional cake-decorating.

There is a yoda one that is worth checking out, but you'd have to scroll through a whole post, and I won't torture you with that! :)

And my favorite kind of cake is a chocolate cake I make with ganache instead of a more traditional frosting. Yum. Me. (I hope that makes sense. First I wrote "Yum. My." and that didn't make sense to look at. I'm sorry I'm so weird.)

Awesome cakes! I haven't watched "The Cake Boss" but I've seen cake making shows on The Food Network (like Ace of Cakes) but I like every one of these BETTER than those!

Dot O said...

So cool, Becky! That must have been so much fun. Now, knowing me you have to know which cake I thought was the best. Can you guess???

Wow! Those are awesome cakes. As a teacher on spring break this week, my favorite was the "when teachers dream" cake. :) I love a good moist (gooey!) chocolate cake with a really good frosting (cream cheese frosting is even better!). Yum.

I love your quote and that is our family tradition. When we are at reunions we line up at the desserts first because we may be too full to get them. I've always admired talented cake bakers.
I'll go like Sarah's page now and tell her you sent me.

I am filled with awe at the decorations, since I can't even sqiggle a name on a cake without messing it up. I did once manage a frosting carrot on top top of a carrot cake - which, incidentally, is mt favorite (with cream cheese frosting).

Liz said...

It never ceases to amaze me what some people can create from cake! So pretty!

My favorite cake is red velvet with cream cheese icing.
