Photographer Interview: Chantelle Ellem from Fat Mum Slim

chantelle 18  Chantelle is a lovely blogger. She is from Australia. I was absolutely enamoured the moment I first visited her page.chantelle 6 Her pictures are fantastically whimsical. And if she doesn’t have the perfect picture for a post, she just inserts a lovely find. chantelle 3

Chantelle is sort of famous. By sort of, I mean, she has 1,422 people following her on facebook and 1,267 people following her blog. chan 1 She has written books! She is on television and has little blurbs written about her in Disney magazines…chantelle 4WOW, right? And the most fantastical thing about her? She talks to you. chantelle 7

Some bloggers are too cool to say hi. Can you blame them? A lot of comments can wear a person out. Not Chantelle though. Chantelle is just about as down to earth and lovely as they come and I was so touched that she was happy to do this interview for all of us. chantelle 2

What is your favorite color?    chantelle 12  Pink. Or Blue. Or white. Or yellow. I can't decide. I like them all {except green or brown}. chantelle 8
When did you first pick up a camera?  chantelle 15
I must have been a child, I guess. I can't really remember. But I just know from the moment I started snapping away, I never wanted to stop.chantelle 1
Tell me about your camera now. chantelle 11What lenses do you have? What editing program do you use?chantelle 14

I have a Canon 450D with a 1.8 50mm lens. I love it. I'd like to upgrade to a 7D though. We'll see! I use Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS3.  chantelle 10
What is your favorite thing to shoot?chantelle 9

I love shooting sun flare, the sky and clouds. chan 3 And my daughter. chantelle 13
How do you come up with creative ideas?chantelle 11
I think my mind was created that way. I never really run out of ideas... except when I'm stressed, and that's nothing a lie-down, a bath or a good cry can't fix. chantelle 24
What is your favorite site you go to be inspired?chantelle 20

I love peeking through weheartit or etsy and just falling in love. chantelle 5
Do your friends get annoyed because you are always snapping away?chantelle 17

Not really. I'm pretty discreet. My daughter would tell you otherwise! chantelle 21
How did you pick your babies name? chantelle 16

My beautiful husband picked her first name {Lacey} and her middle name {Mae} is a family name. chantelle 12
Do you think blond hair is the best color hair to have?chantelle 22

I'd love to have red hair or brown hair, but it just wouldn't suit me. Blond hair is definitely the best hair colour for me to have.  chantelle 25
If you could do a dream shoot and shoot anything you wanted, tell me all the details.   chantelle 2
Oh give me a field with grass, and flowers, and bunting, and picnics, and frocks, and sunflare, chantelle 4and tea parties... and balloons and horses... please? chan 2 Can you imagine how beautiful that would be?  chantelle 1
What is your favorite dessert?chantelle 3

Chocolate pudding, with vanilla bean icecream... and a gooey chocolate centre.
chantelle 5What is the silliest thing you ever took a picture of?

Oh, this morning I took a photo of a toy giraffe eating a chip. If I see it, I'll shoot it.
chanelle 13Do you shoot every day? Does the baby get tired of it?     telle 2

I don't shoot everyday. There will be weeks when I rarely get my camera out. chantelle 9Now I have an iphone though... so there's no stopping me. And yep, she gets fed up with me. But that's what mamas are for. chantelle 10
Have you ever been to the United States? What do you think is different about being a Mama where you live versus the United States?chantelle 8

I've never been to the States but I dream of seeing New York. I think life would be pretty much the same... bchantelle 13ut of course the accents would be different. chantelle 7
What is one of your favorite songs right now? chantelle 6

The Avett Bros - Head full of doubt {I've listened to it 8 times already today}. chantelle 18
Where do you see yourself in ten years?chantelle 16

I see myself and my little family in a house by the beach, with everything painted white... chantelle 15licking icypoles, having fun and laughing the days away. x

chantelle 17
