Mess ups & Mayhem at Betsy and Becky’s Flower Shoppe

We had a little party for our Mama on Sunday.
We celebrated her years.Study 1 - black border (resized 150)
It wasn’t really a special number that most people celebrate.
Which once again just goes to show that we are above all else-moms party 6
Odd.
So any way,
Betsy and I decided we would make lovely flower bouquets for the tables.
On Saturday we carved out a 3 hour time period where we were void of any and all needy babies, fidgety toddlers, quirky kindergarteners and trying children.moms party 2
We went to the green house and got some flowers.
Oodles and oodles.sweet shot button We arranged and sorted and discarded extra leaves like crazy.
Everything looked perfect.
Betsy watered one of the hydrangea plants we had replanted into Mason jars.moms party 1
We thought it made the plant look muddy and icky.
Collectively we made a brilliant decision to just go ahead and not water the rest.
We thought the plants would be fine overnight until the party, right?
Wrong.moms party 3
We woke up the next morning to tulips that had completely opened and had petals dropping and droopy hydrangeas.
So, you know what we did, right?moms party
We went back to the greenhouse and used the plants just as they came in the little tacky plastic pots.
And no one noticed a thing.
It sure was nice to spend those three hours with her though.moms party 4
Who cares that our project was a total fail.
Plants: 1                     Becky & Betsy: 0      moms party 5 Here is a leftover Valentines Kiss from the oddest  specialest member of our family!

Glad you enjoyed the time together though - and it's good you have a sense of humor. You'll be laughing about it in the years to come.
Speaking of laughing - tell Kaishon he gave me my laugh for the day with his silly picture! Looks like fish lips. :)

Happy Birthday to your mother. My mother (long departed) was a Valentine's Day baby. That V day kiss is sweeter than candy.

The lesson here is that usually the extra effort isn't worth the time - but the time spent together is! Hope you had a great time!

Happy birthday to your Mama!

It's not a total waste of time... you got to spend time with Betsy. :) I love it that you're "Betsy and Becky." Were your parents ever confused --i.e., sometimes calling out one name, but really intending to call the other? =)

hehe, so you ended up right back where you began?!? ;-) but there was joy in the journey, right?!? and, of course, it makes a good story. :-)

We'll have to rename you the "resourceful sisters". Happy b-day to your Mom.

So, your family is odd too. See, knew we were kindred spirits. Kaish makes me crack up.

Hahaha!! A big Valentine hug to darling Kaish!!! I loved your idea of the flowers for your mom's b'day. And who says you got to celebrate only the special numbered b'days. Every b'day is special!!!! I have a suggestion. The plastic pots can be covered with some wrapping paper and neat bows to look pretty.

The plants may have won their "battle", but their beauty must have been share by all. Lovely bouquets!

3 quality hours with your sister is priceless. I'm sure the flowers looked gorgeous!!

I love working with flowers. There is something so natural and therapeutic about it for me. I love to buy a couple of bunches from the store and come home an create something...a bunch of small bouquets or one lare substantial piece. And they smell soooooo good.

I bet your mom loved them.
