You know how I love and adore I Heart Faces?
Like more than my car my job my thin physique anything?
This week they are throwing a wrench in the system.
They want to see a picture (with a face in it) from your cell phone.
They don’t care if it is an iphone, a blackberry, or a droid.
They just want a cell phone camera picture.
I take I Heart Faces contests very seriously.
Each weekend I hunt down politely ask resistant victims willing models to help me in the quest for the perfect entry : )
This weekend I couldn’t find anyone to coerce,
so, inspired by a post I had just read on street photography at the Mortul Muses, I went out into the streets of Lansdale, Pennsylvania,
ready to shoot via my cell phone.
I took 23 pictures.
20 of them were faceless.
2 of them were blurry as could be.
1 remained.
No.
But who cares?
It was fun trying!
I hope you will enter too!
Go ahead.
Make some magic with your cell phone camera!

Becky, thanks for checking out my brand-new blog and especially for leaving a comment. I love your site! My friend Traci told me about SITS, so I have been going there every day. I want to go to Bloggy Boot Camp, and am wait-listed for San Diego :-( I really appreciate your encouragement...Sounds like you have a lovely family. ♥
Well, I would happily follow your advice, Miss Becky Reporter-on-the-Street architecture-loving always-has-a-great-pic-no-matter-what Leatherman, BUT... alas. and alack. MY cell phone has no camera. It is a flip phone, probably at LEAST five years old, maybe older. So I will cheer you on and hope that YOU are the #1 pick! I love it... especially in black and white. Good luck...xoxox...
I heart this photo, Becky! What a majestic building. And there is a face in your photo. It's teeny, tiny, but it's there. xx
oh this sounds super exciting, if I only had a phone like those you mentioned...on the other hand I'm fine with my very old...what is it again? Who knows, it's more recent than those brick ones we used to carry in the 90's though hehe. I wish I had taken a picture of this pretty girl at church with my camera phone!
Dear Becky, how are you doing? I've been keeping you and Kaish in my prayers, I hope that little cutie is doing better. I know the Lord has wonderful things for him and for you ahead, God has awesome plans for all of us, we are His very loved children. I hope you have a wonderful day at work tomorrow and that you feel that happiness in you heart to know that you are beautiful and you are loved by Him, the most wonderful and awesome God. I send you hugs my friend, God bless you!
I am leaving the photography to you Becky! Hope you win!!!
It's a beautiful building! Maybe I'll enter a chicken face. ;)
LOVE it :) I hope you win...
I think that is a beautiful photo!!!!
I have been using my cell phone camera....but not so much great stuff is coming out of it. :)
xooxxoo
it's a pretty cool photo =) and it's cool that you tried to anyway =) i hope ur weekend was awesome!
I take lots of pictures with my cell phone, but they are usually of my cats, or my backyard or something. It's actually not a bad camera, all things considered, but I don't think I've ever taken as cool a picture as yours. I just never think to do that. May have to get out there and look around more. :)
I love that church! You are CLEARLY the most committed iheartfaces fan around. I'm glad you didn't go buy a new phone with a bunch of fancy apps to prove it.
I had the world's coolest phone. My nephews DROOLED over it. It was one of the first Razors. I still have it. My point and shoot is cutting edge by comparison. No cell phone photo for me.
This is absolutely beautiful Becky...and with your cell phone! Love it. :)
Thank you for stopping by my blog! I really appreciate it!
Well, I don't know about the contest, but I truly think this pic is awesome. It is like I can "see" the colors even though it is black and white. Does that make sense? Either way...I like it! LOADS of character!
Soo beautiful and creative! I use my iPhone as a point and shoot all the time. But seriously, wow, so much better than any of my cellphone pictures.
I think it has a very photojournalistic feel! (If that's a word!)
awesome photo!
I think the building is beautiful! Great shot!
if i lived near you i'd throw my children at your feet and have you snap away...i, of course, would be hiding :)
I love the drama of this picture! might not win but it is really well composed! :)
I think that photo is amazing...it is completely provocative. A lone person walking by a church, as if oblivious to its existence. Or, did she just leave? And what kind of experience did she have there? Or did she come and go without entering, having just studied the stained glass for a minute, or longer? I love it.
wow! thats a great photo!
Ok, ok..You twisted my arm. I entered!
I love your picture! It's gorgeous :)
hilarious post!!
Love the writing, love the photo!
Oh I love this picture- It almost looks like a painting. I also wandered around trying find someone to capture with my cell phone but only captured faceless pictures. Since I am living out here in London with no family (except my husband), it is hard finding a model sometimes!
My phone is old school--no camera!
Glad to know I wasn't the only one wrecking my brains over this ;-P
Great coloring! It took me a while to get into using my phone's camera!
Tamar
That's a lovely shot!
Becky.....you crack me up. I love reading your posts. And by the way...I love the photo. xoxo
That's really great, B...especially from a camera! I didn't bother this week, but I'm loving all of the fun entries.
Lol! You're such a rule breaker and I heart you for that :)
You have the same strategy as me. When there aren't any willing participants, you just sneak up anyone! :) I love your photo with the itsy, bitsy person. The building is incredible!
The photo doesn't look as bad as what most of us would take with a cell phone camera. That looks like a pretty old church.
I'm not a cell phone person (I have one, but just use it for "emergencies"...like should I pick up a pizza for dinner...) Anyway, I thought I would join the fun at iheartfaces and take a few photos. That's when I realized my cheap replacement phone doesn't have a camera. Hmmmm, I thought $19.95 seemed like a good deal!
Oh, you know you always get my vote! I love your shot...I couldn't even muster up the courage to try! Have I ever told you that your posts make me laugh? Probably just a few thousand times, right? :)
The camera on my cell phone doesn't work and so I will have to pass this challenge up and leave it in your capable hands.
I love how you present your blog Becky. Its a joy to come here.
That is the COOLEST photo!! I love it!
That is the COOLEST photo!! I love it!
Part of why I picked my Droid was for the camera. I love my Nikon D40 but don't always love hauling it around. Didn't want to buy a separate camera for quick point and click moments. So I use my Droid for quick shots and moments. I have oodles of pics on my phone!
I always love your entries! And I actually like this photo. I love the BW. :)
I love your approach and I love that shot... that the face is kinda "by-the-way-here's-a-face-too." =)
Uh, I would join this week, only I think I've only ever taken 7 or 8 photos ever with my phone AND I don't know how to get them onto the computer (DUH)! No iPhone, no Blackberry, no Android. Mine is an antique.
You are so lovely and this photo is amazing!
Thank you! I've been wanting to participate in an iheartfaces challenge for as long as I can remember but always felt like i didn't make the cut. BUT THIS challenge :) well, that's one I can do. Love your shots by the way
That's so awesome that you took your phone out for a photo walk. Love the composition of this shot. One of my favorites by far!
Love that your photo made me laugh! Great job, I hope you get an honorable mention just for the story behind it!
wow what a great building! You're photo is really good for a phone shot, I had difficulty finding one too.
I like it! :)
LOL ~ that's funny. I don't reckon you'll win a faces comp' with that, but it's a great shot all the same!!
I love your shot....it is so much fun to go out cell phone shooting. I love it. I posted about a some of my favorite camera apps with examples...I'm addicted. :)
This is such a pretty church. I'd love to be standing at your vantage point when a bride is arriving at the church, or anyone for that matter. Some churches are more inviting than others I suppose. But I love the way the diminishing arches draw you toward the door.
I'm not even sure how to use my cell phone camera on purpose. I know i've accidentally used it on occasion, but no idea where those images are or how to retrieve them. I am so not technology inclined.
It's about the fun, right? well, if we can make beautiful photos why not? great one here Kaishon.
Much better than mine! I hate my phone camera.
Love it and love shooting with a cell phone, it's so liberating! And you are right, it's fun just playing the game!
thats a really really great picture!
I think it's a great picture!
Fun photo! Reminds me of my old church in my hometown.
Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog!

Thank you for your kind comment on my post! You absolutely can use the story on your post!
Love your photos by the way!:))
I take pictures with my iPhod mostly nowadays simply because I am LAZY and it is just so convenient to share. With all the editing apps available, I can have hours of fun just playing with the so-so pictures i take and I am as happy as a clam. THAT is one great picture taken with a phone.
Good luck!
Your picture and the winning pictures showed once again: It is the CRAFT (and not the fancy tool) stupid.
;-)
Did you enjoy the assignment? yes! So it doesnt matter if "it wins" -- you already won.
I'd say it's a winner even if they don't deem it so! I couldn't capture a shot like that on my camera on my phone.
