christmas 2010 006I was a little nervous that Christmas might disappoint this year.christmas 2010 045                Everyone seemed a little glum.christmas 2010 012

Or stressed. Maybe that’s a better word.christmas 2010 013

Angst has been abundant in our home this year.christmas 2010 011

But suddenly, Christmas morning was upon us-christmas 2010 024

and there wasn’t a frown or a look of despair to be found.christmas 2010 019

There was so much joy christmas 2010 010

in giving to each other.christmas 2010 026

In listening to the story of why we celebrate Christmas.christmas 2010 014

In being together.christmas 2010 118       christmas 2010 064

I could write a zillion words christmas 2010 068with a zillion different explanations about our day…christmas 2010 066

but I am going to let you just look at the pictures.christmas 2010 057

Please don’t look for perfect people.christmas 2010 056

Please don’t look for Norman Rockwell like scenes.christmas 2010 050

And please don’t look at the double chinschristmas 2010 046

(or horrendous wrapping jobs or even quality pictures…)christmas 2010 053

Just look at the love.christmas 2010 029

MY favorite thing about Christmas this year has been watching my kids LOVE... each other as they sacrificed and gave to each other..., and to a couple of old ladies at a nursing home. I feel very rich today! :D

Merry Christmas!
The photos are wonderful!

Glad you had a wonderful Christmas. My favorite part was hearing my daughter ask over and over again "who wants pizza?" as she played with her new pizza party set she got from her uncle. Thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog, it is fun to come check out your blog, too :)

Well, hmm. My favorite thing about Christmas this year SHOULD be a no-brainer. I mean, hey...we had the first measurable snow on Christmas Day in Georgia in over 125 years. And the one in 1882 was 1/4 inch...WE got over 3 inches! So yes, that ranks very near the top. But my FAVORITE thing about Christmas this year happened this afternoon. My hubs didn't go out yesterday other than to visit his dad for a little while. Today, he didn't go out AT ALL. We played Wii, we ate, and we just "were". And this afternoon he said it was the best time for him in years, because he didn't go anywhere or do anything other than to have fun with us. :<) Works for me...

LOVE all of your awesome pics; it looks like you had a great Christmas, too! (in spite of yourselves.... )

Christmas as it should be: full of love. Lots of love to you Becky. xxx

I love this picture story of your Christmas, Becky!
My favourite thing about Christmas this year was listening to the kids opening the little pressies in their stockings before they came in and dragged us out of bed to open the pressis under the tree. Their excitement was tangible.
Best Christmas morning ever! xx

Ah, Becky, you always say the sweetest things. Your posts make my day. What love you capture in pictures and words!

My favorite thing this year was being pain free.

It looks like a joy filled day, and yes - I see the love!
My favorite part of Christmas was having my army son home and spending time together with family!

Looks like your Christmas was perfect in every way.

I enjoyed spending the day with my family in my not-so-perfect world. I didn't take one picture, but the memories are ingrained in my heart. The smiles and joys of laughter from my children will always be a part of my soul.

Hugs...
Grace

Wonderful pictures, and looks like a wonderful Christmas! I was feeling kinda the same way here - like there was so much stress leading up to Christmas I was afraid the big day would be less than what I hoped for. But come Christmas morning suddenly everything seemed "perfect" (perfect for us, anyway). Amazing how that happens when we focus on LOVE instead of perfection. Enjoyed sharing your Christmas day! Happy Holidays!

The love and smiles are oozing from your pictures. I only see perfect! My favorite part/present this Christmas was a letter my husband wrote me. Best gift hands down.It was our first Christmas without family I liked the no stress but missed being amongst everyone it was nice but weird. Have a great last week of the year!

It looks like you liked the same thing about Christmas that I did: I had all three sons home, all day.

That was the best part about Christmas.

The guy reading the note and laughing: priceless! So happy!! I love it!

Being with my family...definetly the best part! No, I don't look for perfect people or beautiful wrapped gifts either. And a double chin, well, twice as nice! You might appreciate this...my sister's new condo, where we had our celebration, is just always warm. Maybe the heating isn't controlled well, or being on a middle floor just keeps it toasty, whatever. I didn't notice it while we were there, but apparently the guys had taken off their sweaters, and some had even put on shorts. The hairy legs made for some unusual Christmas photographs, but the smiles were picture perfect! So glad you had a wonderful time too!

photowannabe said...

Christmas with those you love and ove you makes it total perfection. The love and joy just oozes out of your photos.
I took hardly any photos but just enjoyed having friends and part of our family there.
What was my favorite part? I guess it was having Steve and his family sleep over night Christmas Eve so we could ease into the day and celebrate together, but more than that it was the love letters my son Steve wrote to his 2 daughters. We were all so teary eyed we couldn't even see. My heart was practically bursting with love for my family.
Wishing you blessings instead of issues and problems. God is good and He is right there in the midst of them holding your hands as you walk through.
Love you girlfriend,
Sue

The photos were spectacular and I didn't see one double chin ;-) I saw someone tweet today "Well, we made it through another Christmas." I couldn't help but think that it was too bad this person felt that way - like, whew, glad it's over. Christmas shouldn't be full of stress, angst or dread. If it is, what's the point? Sharing, love, togetherness and giving, of yourselves to each other - this is what is important. I'm thankful to have had all of that this year and it seems you did as well. Hugs!

Sarah said...

How beautiful. I love all of your pictures. It looks like it was indeed a joyous day spent with loved ones, and that's what is most important, right? You are fabulous.

I just want to know what Juan was reading! Christmas is in the darkest days of the year for a reason. Well, a number of reasons. But it's pretty hard to get nice clear photos inside at this time of year without a flash so perfect pics would just be wrong!

I'm so glad the angst did not win the day for you at Christmas Becky!

The one thing about Christmas that becomes real to most of us each year, is that none of us are perfect and that's ok. Not looking for Norman Rockwell or double chins. Just people who love each other. :)
