Dog Days of Summer

andrea 10A wife says to her husband one weekend morning, "We've got such a clever dog. He brings in the daily newspapers every morning." Her husband replies, "Well, lots of dogs can do that." The wife responded, "But we've never subscribed to any!"andrea 1

During break time at obedience school, two dogs were talking.
One said to the other..."The thing I hate about obedience school is you learn ALL this stuff you will never use in the real world."

andrea 4

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet and says "My dog is cross-eyed. Is there anything you can do for him?" The vet says, "Well, let's have a look at him." So the vet picks the dog up while examining his eyes. Finally he says "I'm going to have to put him down." "What? Just because he is cross-eyed?" "No, because he is really, really heavy."andrea 5

Q: Why didn't the dog speak to his foot?
A: Because it's not polite to talk back to your paw!andrea 8

andrea 6

andrea 7  Yellow-Button andrea 9 Go ahead and admit it!

You were going crazy for some corny jokes this week,

weren’t ya?

andrea 3

What is your favorite kind of dog?

We had a lab mix named Sam when I was growing up.

He was adopted from the SPCA.

I miss him.

We had a weinmaraner when I was growing up. I think that she believed my brothers and I were here pups and she was very protective of us. She would wait by the door all day while we were at school. She was the best dog ever.

I think your photographs are beautiful, anjoy the rest of those dog days of summer

I love a good corny joke! And those pink jellies are so adorable! I had a bunch, in all different colors, when I was a kid.

I have to say I'm more of a cat person, but I love big dogs that like to cuddle.

hehe love the corny jokes! Maybe it's because I'm with little children all the time but I thought they were pretty funny! =D
My favorite dog is a maltese! We had one when I was a tenn and her name was Sassy, she was awesome and so smart and cute! We were heartbroken when she was killed by a car =(

I am in love with Kaishon's hair right now. Very cool. Super cute doggie pics too. I would love to have a Golden Retriever...but Angel is what we got & we love her just the same. She is a good doggie.

My brother was visiting this weekend. After golf, he and I had the house to ourselves for a couple of hours. We got out the home movies from 1973 and watched ourselves, he at 1 and me at 5, just after our mom died. It was pretty special. We both got excited to see Sparkle and Patty, our two dogs. I still have no idea what brand they were, so I guess my favorite dogs are crossbreeds.

Such a great post - I know I always say this, but I love your storytelling style - you bring the photos to life.

I've never not had a dog. My parents had a dog before I was born, so that was my first dog, Gwennie. She was a mutt :) Then we got Abby, a cock-a-poo. I loved her. She died shortly after I got married. Then my husband let us get a lab -- I was ready for kids and he wasn't, so the puppy was supposed to be a compromise!! And I love her to pieces, too. I think dogs are great pets.

Love your post & your photos!!!! My favorite dog (so far) was our rotty Keniko....100lb lap dog. We currently have a puppy that's a labradoodle....and I'll love her even more when she has no more accidents in the house!

I SO love that second photo with the droplets of water clinging to Kaish's hair! Beautiful in every way. :)

If I were to have a dog, I'd love either a lab or a golden retriever. Growing up, we had a few Pekingese, a poodle, and several mutts. My favorite was this white pedigreed Pekingese that I named Pitpit.

Stunning views of summery days :D I'm LOVING Kaish's hair!!

As for my choice of dog...gotta be a (chocolate) labrador (named Linus ;D)

My favorite kind of dog is a cat. Actually, Ragdoll cats, like Nicky, have all the good qualities of a dog and all the good (don't HAVE to potty train) of a cat! Love the jokes. Stay cool. We got to 107.9 yesterday!!

Great jokes! I love all dogs. We have a Shetland Sheepdog (miniature collie) and she is the best dog ever.

My mother bought my Dad a dog for his birthday...a cockapoo named T.S. Eliot...he hated my father. He was not a nice dog.

Love the photo of your boy eating with his hair wet. It made me smile and the jokes were awesome.

Love your dog jokes.

To paraphrase Fran Liebowitz: "I assure you, in the real world there is no such thing as obedience."

I love when Kaish grows his hair out!

I think standard poodles are my favorite -- they're so incredibly smart they barely need training.

I'm more of a cat person, but there was this one dog that I met when I worked at the humane society that I will never forget. One of our volunteers rescued greyhounds, and this one in particular was such a gentle sweetheart that she took him with her to visit nursing home patients. His name was Bear.

And one year, Jeff agreed to play Santa for our Picture Your Pet with Santa event. One of our members came with her two Italian Greyhounds and Jeff adored them.

Sam was the name of our black lab when I lived with my parents. He was supposed to be my 15th birthday present, but he bonded with my dad and has been pretty much adopted by him.

My husband and I have a beagle with a lazy eye named Rex. He is dumb as a stump, goes potty on the vaccuum cleaner because he hates it, and chews my daughter's bath duckies to pieces... but we still love him.

Hey there "neighbor". I have been so neglectful. I do stop by frequently, just no commenting. Tonight I am visiting my PA friends at the very least... quiet night at home, and some energy to spare!

Can't say I have a fav dog, our Princess is my faithful friend...she's a lab weimeraner mix. She's mad at me today, my niece clipped her nails... but I was the one who she could see, not Jodie! I still love her.. she is a rescue dog.

I love the corny jokes!
My favourite dog are wolf hounds, I don't have enough room for one at the moment though. But I always keep my eyes on animal rescue sites because if one came through I might have to nab it!

Bec said...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE German Shepherds, but my husband thinks they are scary. I had a GS mix growing up and she was just the most fabulous dog. I'll wear him down yet ;)

My favorite dog is a lab, my Belle girl is a black lab. She was my first baby. However, I adore small dogs and one of these days I want to get a little Jack Russel Terrier or something small like that.
