What is great about y.o.u?

This weekend,

my very best friend on the planet,

had a little Par-Tay!

party 080 It was so much fun.

And I mean SO MUCH

in all capital letters!

partay 7 One thing I noticed at this little event

was that all my girlfriends

did NOT want to have their picture taken!

party 042  They were all like,

‘Oh NO! Keep the camera away from me!’

party 059 And I was like

“What is wrong with you?party 055

Are you CRAZY?

You are gorgeous!

Gorgeous, I tell ya.”

party 079   And they didn’t really listen!

party 095 And then they were like

“If you think it is so great-party 087 then let us take a picture of you.”

party 092 And I told them not to be ridiculous!

party 086

But I did give in for one picture.

I wonder what it is about us as girls

that makes us SO flipping insecure with ourselves?

Today, lots of girls from all around the world will be coming to visit

Communal Global!

I want all the girls that come today to tell me one thing that you

LOVE about yourself!

Come on!

It will be fun!

I love that my eyes are green.

I think they are fabulous!

I hope you find beautiful things all around you today.

We would LOVE if you linked up!

Great giveaway for SEEDS at my friend Karen’s blog!

Go check it out and sign up! : )

I don't know what makes us insecure... but yep. I've got it, too.

Great pictures, as always.

Hmmm... I think that I would run out of space if I tried to list all of the things that I love about YOU! Yes, your green eyes are gorgeous, but so is your smile, and your lovely face. And of course your heart is amazing. And your mad photo skilz. And your gift of encouragement. And your mother's heart. And... see????? I could go on forEVER. Me? Hmmm. I do like my eyes. I like my desire to build others up. And I really love the second toe on my right foot. It's just special to me. ;<)

You are gorgeous! I've always wanted to see a picture of you.

They're all great pics! Let's blame it all on the media, telling us that a 22 year old who wears a size zero is the norm...what a crock.

And this doesn't seem to be a problem for men so much, ya know? Lucky buggers!

I forgot to say what I like about myself. When I look at me in the mirror, I often don't see wrinkles or flab, I still see the brown eyes of a little girl who was hopeful and shy and curious about the world.

I still see me...and that's good enough.

LOL! I hate having my picture taken as well... and then I complain that there aren`t too many pictures of me with the kids! Maybe one day, I will be brave enough to show my face on my blog. :)

I can't believe I don't even know which one of these shots are of you. LOL

I don't know what it is....but I have a hard time with shots of myself as well. I'm not too photogenic.

OOh Becky!! They knew their pics would be up on the blog!! You have gorgeous friends!! It feels blessed to have so many of them!!

You are gorgeous as well! Love about myself??? If you're talking a physical feature, I'd say my dimples or my eyes. I have eyes that smile (or so I'm told.)

You are beautiful! But I know what you are talking about. I don't like my picture taken either. For some reason I always look like some old lady and not Angelia, whom I greatly favor. HA Believe that? But Becky, I too have green eyes---some times. Hazel some times too--usually in pictures.

Sounds like you and all your girlfriends could join up in Meredith's photo challenge! ;)

love this post! I see it too in our home videos all the time.. the moms in the room going "no don't tape me!" Doesn't matter if it's my mom, family friends or relatives. no one likes to be on camera! (except me. I like attention. haha. on video. but NOT photos. I don't photograph well)

I'm glad you let someone take your photo. My mom and sister-in-law always say the same thing--"are you trying to take my picture?" They are both beautiful, inside and out and I tell them so.

What do I like about myself? I am kind. I'm not sure that's what you meant, but that's me.

I just love you precious lady! Your right! Your all lovely and if we would just stop with thinking we need to be built like Barbie or Angelina Jolie, not to mention having faces that are air brushed, puffy lipped, and botoxed etc.... real people are the salt of the earth. The really good stuff and authentically beautiful. I prefer what God creates any day of the week.

Don't forget to mention the garden seed give away please.

i'm the same as you - it really hurts me that my friends talk badly about themselves, but usually i'm the first in line to pick myself apart.

i love my hair. its really versatile. i can either wear it straight and very "done" or i can throw some gel in it and scrunch it curly. i can't tell you the last time i've used a blow dryer on my hair.

love, Love, LOVE these Superior Snaps! They sure are gorgeous gals, as are you. Don't know where we get this "camera shy" biz, but I have it, too. I had a difficult time posing for a family vaycay pic just yesterday...

Well, you are just as cute as everyone else! :-)

I love my dimples -- even more, I love that my son has them too.

The pictures of your friends are beautiful! HOpe you guys had a fabulous 4th!♥

What great happy pictures! Beautiful! I love my green eyes! And my optimism!

I have an award for you over at my place. Come on by for a visit and pick it up!

What a fun time all the girls together. Great pictures. Including the one of you.

There nothing like celebrating a holiday with your best friends. I too had a blast with my friends on the 4th.

I'm think I like my long legs the best. ;-) My daughter has them too. I hope she loves being tall as much as I do.

Hmm... I recently got a bit too much attention for talking about how I have had a strange confidence in myself since a young age. I think I like myself in such a healthy way that I stick out among the normal people who have a huge list of things that they dislike about themselves!
One (and, I'll limit it to just one) thing I like about myself is my silly singing and dancing in the kitchen to make my kids laugh or get their attention when they're over the top riled up about something insignificant. :)
YAY for ideas to help women grow in confidence!!

Yay! A picture of you! Love it :) These are really great portraits! I feel like as photographers we always have an excuse not to have our picture taken...always behind the lens. But it's necessary for the memories, you know?

Yelena R. said...

Hmm...what do I like about myself? Where do I start? hahaha, just kidding :)

I guess I'm nice...and I can take a pretty decent picture :D Is that good enough? Oh and I love babies! Not everyone can say that!

What IS it? I am just the same....

Hmmmm...like my "baby blue" eyes...working on the other stuff! :o)

Great photos! Looks like a fun party!

Is that you in the last picture?????? No wait, you have brown eyes, she has green. Which one are you?

You have a seriously good looking group of gal pals! But I hate having my picture taken too.

The older I get the further "south " the things about me are that I love-- so I'm going with my feet. I still have really nice feet :-)

Great post.

Can I just say that those are some gorgeous women! I don't know which one is you... but I love the diversity of each woman! Which one is you?

What I love about ME? I'm sincere, honest, funny, and have decently shaped legs (I feel pretty good wearing shorts or skirts above the knee)

Great post!

Wonderful pics! What I love about myself? I love that my genes created my children. I love that my face attracted my love. There's two.

You should go look at my blog. My last post, leap, was inspired by you.

Cheers,

Casey

They are so gorgeous.

And, the insecurity is one of the reasons for Mommy and Me Monday!

So glad you got in a least one picture.

You and all your friends are beautiful!
I don't know why, but we women can't see ourselves through the lens that God sees us through, can we? (Have you ever read "Captivating"? A GREAT book, by the way... all about WOMEN and how God loves and pursues us and how special we are to him...)

I love your photos and I love your blog... it always makes me smile, laugh, and feel good inside.

(And THAT is also beautiful!)

Love this post Becky! Every woman I know feels this way. As soon as I take the pic they have to run over and approve it first. What's up with that?? Oh maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's going on the internet for all to see...but still:)

Anyway I think you are beautiful and I loved your sweet letter this morning. Made me smile from ear to ear. I know we'll be friends. I can always use more friends. Have a beautiful weekend.
