A Quiz about What Really Matters

     ron 7
Take this quiz:
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
aron 009
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor or actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
aron 007
How did you do?
aron 028
The point is,
none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
ron 3
But the applause dies.
Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried
with their owners.

aron 010
Here's another quiz:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time. ron 6
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel, appreciated and special. aron 026
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.
aron 017
The people who make a difference
in your life are not
the ones with the most credentials,
the most money,
or the most awards.
They are the ones that care.

Thanks Becky for the prayers. It means a lot.
I do hope Kaishon can fulfill his dream sometime. Its the part of living the life of the people visited and not just as a tourist that makes the difference.
i have visited many places in our world but nothing has gotten into my very bloodstream like Africa.
I would love to return but really don't see it in the future unless the Lord provides.

HELLO!! I love the fact that there are 78 comments on this post!!! You have definitely struck a nerve, girl. So many "heroes" don't hold up... because they are human. And when they get in the spotlight, eventually they melt. The real heroes for each of us should be the people that we KNOW who make a difference, in our lives and the lives of those around us. LOVE this post, and I am SO glad that I'm not the only one! and as always, you are one of my heroes...you do an amazing job of lifting people up and making them feel good, and of capturing the beauty within so that all can see. Love you, dear Becky...

I love this! When you said it was time for a quiz and I could not for the life of me get a single answer for the first few questions, I thought I had failed. You are completely right about the people who make a difference in our lives. They aren't famous people or people with high awards and status. They're the ones that leave footprints in our lives. They're the only ones that count :) Thanks for reminding us that :)

By the way, I love all these photos :) I think you captured them perfectly.
