My Mom will hate this picture

but what can I do?

It is ‘Mom’ week at I heart faces.

LG_I_Heart_Faces[3] I love this picture.

I love my Mom’s hair.

Her laughter.

Her happy eyes.

She is everything a Mom should be.

I thank God for her daily. mom 2

Here is a little Erma Bombeck humor

on this Happy Mothers Day post

• People shop for a bathing suit with more care than they do a husband or wife. The rules are the same. Look for something you'll feel comfortable wearing. Allow for room to grow.

• No one ever died from sleeping in an unmade bed. I have known mothers who remake the bed after their children do it because there's a wrinkle in the spread or the blanket is on crooked. This is sick.

• Guilt is the gift that keeps on giving.

• Housework is a treadmill from futility to oblivion with stop offs at tedium and counter productivity.

• My theory on housework is, if the item doesn't multiply, smell, catch on fire or block the refrigerator door, let it be. No one cares. Why should you?

• Education is so important when it comes to domesticity. I don't know why no one ever thought to paste a label on the toilet tissue spindle giving 1-2-3 directions for replacing the tissue on it. Then everyone in the house would know what Mama knows.

• Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died.

• I just clipped 2 articles from a current magazine. One is a diet guaranteed to drop 5 pounds off my body in a weekend. The other is a recipe for a 6 minute pecan pie.

• Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the 'Titanic' who waved off the dessert cart.

What is your favorite thing about your Mom?

I love that my Mom is peaceful.

The rest of us in my family are hyper.

{Loud and happy}

My Mom is calm and peaceful.

She brings tranquility wherever she goes.

I think it's a wonderful picture.

And I've always love Erma, even before I was old enough to understand the idea of raising kids and the humor in it.

:)

Happy Mother's Day.

I love that picture of your mom and I love the Mom wisdom too!
My Mom passed away almost 7 years ago and I still miss her. Mother's Day just isn't right without her! My favorite thing about her was the pride she had in her kids and grandkids. No matter what - we were always secure in her love!

What a great picture. I think it captures her spirit.

I'm with Pam D., why is it that so many of us don't like the pictures that capture us at our best? It seems like we too often prefer the ones that DON'T look like us. Your mom looks like someone I want to know!

Tell your Mom that picture is wonderful! It really shows her happy spirit. :)

Happy Mother's Day.

Your blog is such a pleasure to read! You are so witty and your photos are outstanding!! :)

My favorite thing about my mom is that she lives with me. As an only child, I'm happy that I have such a wonderful husband that understands why I enjoy having her with us. She's down to earth and in touch with the world around her. She likes to lead a simple and peaceful life, yet she's fun to be around and a great conversationalist. She works hard, harder than I ever have. She's only 4'9" but has the energy of a 7 foot 20 year old man. She's the best. :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Gosh, I love your rules of domestic life. Your mom looks like a gem. Cherish her.

My mom is just great. I could go on and on, but she is a gem. I didn't really appreciate her until after becoming a parent myself. Gosh, the trials I put her though as a kid. LOL

My favorite thing about my Mom is that she never gave up,no matter what was going on, she put one foot in front of the other, and dusted herself off every single time she fell. Thankfully she passed that on to me:)

I had a giggle at the toilet paper replacement joke!

Loved those quotes!

Now why would your mom hate that picture? I think it's fantastic!!!

Let's see... my favorite thing about my mom. Hmmmm...

It'd probably be that she farts when she coughs. Or when she sneezes. Or when she laughs.

Oh, and if she has a decent coughing attack she automatically sneezes.

Haha! You should look at my Mother's Day post from Sunday and check out the pictures of me and my mom. She commented that she hated those pictures, too....but on the other hand, she loves them because of the memories they hold. She just wishes that her hair was better and she didn't have a big bruise on her arm. LOL!

Since having kids I have realized how much my mom must have really loved (LOVES) me. I wish sometimes we could have such wisdom when we are young. Not that I ever doubted she loved me, but you know there is just stuff that happens and you wonder "why'd she do/act/react" like that??? I had a great Mother's Day even if we did a bunch of yard work. Mickey and I are off to Vegas in a few days for a long weekend and I am super excited!!

Your mom does have beautiful hair. If mine were a lovely silver like that, I don't think I would color it. But this mess of dark brown with wiry strands of white mixed in? I can do without, thankyouverymuch.

We <3 Sonic! Especially their Happy Hour from 2-4pm every day- who doesn't love half priced drinks? (and their ice! in a styrofoam cup that doesn't sweat! love it.)

OHMYGOSH! I love Erma! Can I have your mom's number? I know where you get your cleverness and your way with words. So much wisdom in those little nuggets of truth. I really love the " Housework is a treadmill from futility to oblivion with stop offs at tedium and counter productivity"! LOL. She's my kind of woman!

So many favorite things about my mom. The ones that top the list are her compassion and giving heart.
