‘Seldom do people discern
Eloquence under a threadbare cloak.’
~Juvenal

You know,

I know by now,

everyone and their brother

has done an Oscar Gown post.oscars-sigourney-weaver-de-57927499

But, I also know for sure,

that you,

have been just DYING

for your friend Becky

to give you her Oscar Dress opinions as well.oscars anna kendrick

I know,

without a doubt,

you have been waiting with baited breath,

to hear what this

black shirt,

black pants,

black sweater wearing girl

with a tomato red face had to say.oscars demi moore

Am I right?

Oh.

Not so much, eh?

Well here you have it anyway : )

My favorites.   oscars sarah jessica parker Now, of course I did not

take these pictures.

My black shirt, black pants, black sweater wearing self

was at home on the couch during the big event.

I tried to watch the Oscars

but that lasted for like ten minutes.

Gary had a {very} important basketball game to watch.

I am so over basketball games.

Is it me, or does basketball season last forever?

It seems that12 months a year it is on…

Did you watch the Oscars Sunday night?

Did you have a favorite dress?

Did you cry during Sandra’s speech?

I was listening to it the next morning on the way to work

and it made me pause.

Pause and thank God.

She thanked all the families that adopt.

And I thank them too.

Adoption is a very beautiful thing indeed.oscars kaish

Here is my Kaishon in his Oscar dress this summer.

This kid just cracks me up!sevenclownbutton ABC Wednesdayblack and white wednesday

I really like that dress on Sigourney Weaver. Yum. *ahem*

The rest of them don't really do too much for me.

Trudy said...

I love Kaish's dress! With that personality, I could totally see him on the red carpet someday!

I did an Oscar post myself, not the one up now, but the one before...but feel free to read both, LOL!

I did cry during Sandra's speech, I LOVE her!

God bless Rebeckah!

Wish I could have watched. I haven't read any posts on the Oscars. I don't know who won or anything. Kids have been too rambunctious to look today.

Did not watch the Oscars here because of the time difference but it's always interesting to see the news coverage in the morning and to find out what the beautiful people are wearing:)

Fun post for the day and of course my favorite is Kaishon in his superb dress! Don't have television so didn't watch the Oscars, but sounds as though they were interesting as always! Have a great week!

Funny Kaish-
and I did watch the oscars, but fell asleep and missed Saundra-I wanted her to win so bad! That movie Blind Side was just another way to tell the adoption story...and that is an important story to tell...

I missed the Oscars thanks to a basketball game as well *sigh* I'll have to watch Sandra's speech on YouTube. That picture of your little one is too funny!

You are an early birdie with your BNW Wednesday post! I haven't even wrapped my brain around it.

I didn't watch and the pics of dresses on your blog are the first I have looked at. Dresses like that look silly on me. Cannot.pull.it.off.
Pretty though.

Hi there! We don't have any basic TV, so we miss everything..lol. But, that's okay, I can catch up things online..lol.

I cry every time I hear her speech. She's so powerful, just by virtue of being a really good person.

I did love J Lo's dress, and Anna Kendricks.

I haven't watched the Oscars in quite a few years, but I love all the critics opinions the day after.
I like the hair Kaishon. :)

Sarah Jessica Parker's dress was my absolute fave -- hands down!

And I was getting all weepy reading what you wrote about adoption and then I scroll down and see the picture of Kaish in that dress and busted out laughing -- too funny!

A great look at the Oscars. Enjoyed that.

I thought Sigourney looked really great! I watched, but I skipped over a lot of it. So I didn't hear all of Sandra's speech. Kaishon just needs a ticket for next year and he is good to go! :)

I tried to watch, and promptly fell asleep.

Love Kaishon's outfit - he is just so stylin'!!!

Kaishon's dress is the best, no doubt about it. His smile is also the best by far. Charm to spare!

Hi! I was going to send you a quick email but it wouldn't let me. I just wanted to say that i had NO idea the housewives had blogs, that just made my day!! Thanks for that, i will definitely become a reader of those! I have TONS to say about each housewife, but won't clog up your comment section with them =)

Oh, and the picture of your kid's oscar dress is hilarious!

I didn't watch the Oscars; honestly, the politics have become too much to bear. But I did see the pics of the dresses, and Sarah Jessica Parker's really did wow me. I thought Sandra Bullock looked very, very lovely, too. And hooray for adoption... not for the sake of politics, but rather for the sake of love. :<)

I turned the TV on, then forgot to watch. Hm. So I didn't pick a fave dress or hairdo or any of that exotic stuff. Maybe next year. Much more fun to look at the pictures you post - the 'real' people of the world!

Wanda said...

It just must be laughs all the time at your place. I hooted at Kaishon's get-up. That was truly award winning.

My fav dress was Jennifer Lopez. Gorgeous. And yes, Sandra's speech was awesome.

Have a great Wednesday!

Your son's dress is the best, hands down!

I liked Meryl Streep's dress and I thought Oprah looked wonderful too!

You have great taste! I like all the dresses but I wasn't crazy about Sara Jessica Parker's big hair.

My fave dress was Cameron Diaz who fianlly pulled herself together and looked beautiful fromhead to toe.

Now Kaish, on the otherhand, is a hoot!

xo

OMG! Kaishon looks so cute in that dress!

I have always loved Sandra Bullock, and I love her even more after her speech. I think she has a pretty nice husband too. They live really close to where I lived in CA.

Oh, and wasn't her dress the best ever?

Do love the b&w pics esp. the last one. The young man is stylin'.

No, I didn't watch the Oscars. I did hear though that someone wore a black dress. I saw her picture and it was absolutely gorgeous, but the commentators were saying how dreadful it was of her to wear black? Why? Because it doesn't 'pop'!

Good grief... ! LOL!

Great post! I have always adored Sandra Bullock. I agree with her that there are mommies out there everywhere who don't get the thanks and appreciation they deserve. And I don't think the act of giving birth makes you a mother. I think the being there day in and day out. Waking up with sick children, holding them when they cry, celebrating milestones and loving even when you want to run in the other direction makes a mom.

And Kaish can totally rock the red carpet! He looks better than some of the stars did! LOL

That's too funny! I missed them this year, hockey was more important at our house, and oh, of course, the girls...gotta be a mommy first!

Holy cow! How did I miss the start of basketball season? And I missed the Oscars too. Good thing I dropped by, Becky, I miss a lot because the moment TV comes on, I fall asleep. We have a nice, big HD screen and an expanded cable package -- the most expensive sleep aid ever!

Looks like Kaishon has a load of confidence - what a wonderful thing! I am curious about the story behind the photo of him in a dress!

OMG! That Kaishon is hysterical. An Oscar dress? LOL. And I taped the Oscars and have yet to see Sandra's speech. Tonight!!!!

Oscar night is very important in our house, so yes we did watch it. DVR'd and later than the rest of the world, but we watched every second. It was great. Loved the host(s), loved many of the speeches, etc etc. In our house we have four seasons. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Awards Season... which begins with People's Choice or Golden Globes and ends with Independent Spirit (our fave) and Oscars on the same weekend.

Your boy is hilarious!

Cheers,

SLC

This just cracked me up! I like Kaishon's dress the best :)

Of course I watched the Oscars, I had to watch my Twilight peeps represent! My favorites dresses were worn by none other than Anna Kendrick and KStew...NOT because they're in some movie (that I LOVE), but because I truly thought they looked absolutely breathtaking! I cried like a big 'ol baby when Sandra was giving her speech and I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes when Kathryn Bigelow (first female director to win an Oscar) accepted her awards...what a moment!

I do not like looking at basked ball but I did play basketball until last year.
