How we roll: Blizzard Edition

We are having a blizzard.

week 2# 3 It is cold.

It is extremely  snowy.communal gloabal 4

It is icy.blizzard 2   I am trying to avoid venturing into it as much as possible.

Of course Kaish had a snow day.blizzard 4 Imagine my surprise when the doorbell rang at 7 this morning.Week 2 #2

I imagined God had heard my complaints during the night

(regarding shoveling)

and was sending over a plow man.

No. Such. Luck.blizzard 3

It was Shoshi.

*At 7*

Now, on a normal day,

the boys don’t go out to the bus until 8:00.

And believe you me,

they do NOT like getting up that early.

So why in good heavens was Shoshi up at 7?blizzard 8

To play in the snow of course…

He didn’t understand why

I was so surprised at his early arrival time.

Aren’t you 10?

Oh, OK!blizzard 6

So, I get Kaish some winter clothes

and he tells me he abhors sweat pants

and absolutely can not wear them in the snow…

So, I get him some jeans.

He hates jeans too.

By this time, 7:10 AM,  Jonathon has arrived.

He is ready for action.

I tell Kaish to get his own pants

He runs upstairs and comes back down in his school clothes…

At this point,

I could care less.

I want to go back to bed!

I shove the children out into the cold morning!blizzard 5

Wish them well!

And slam the door!

Only, sure enough,

4 minutes and 21 seconds later,

they return from their adventure.blizzard 7

They decided it is much too coldweek 2# 5

…and way too early to play.

Can we have some pancakes?blizzard

I obliged.

I love those little monsters…

Ah, if only snow and warm weather could exist in the same atmosphere. Lol. They look like they had fun while it lasted, though. :)

Loved the pics! I wish I could go out and play with my girl in the snow... but it's not a good idea to do that now since we are both still a little sick -sigh-

I can't wait to take pics like yours ;)

LOVE this! Boy, it brought back memories of when I was a kid! And yes, I've been following the mid-Atlantic's Snowy PLIGHT!!! You guys have been SMACKED these past several day!

Stay indoors and stay WARM!!!!

The boys can go out for their little 5 - 10 minute snowy "jaunts" and then come back in for hot cocoa and TV...! :)

To be 10 again! I am not a fan of the snow, but your photos make it look lovely.

No snow here in Colorado (the flatlands).

Snow days are critical to the fun of being a kid, so here's hoping for many ?happy? returns.

Funny how easily they can wake up if it is for something fun. :)

Beautiful pictures!! And you are obviously the cool mom on the block. I so hope my kids friends will feel comfortable coming over to our house someday.

Love the pictures, snow is pretty, even if it is cold.

You're much better than I am, I would have told him to go back to bed and come back in the afternoon. No school = no early mornings for me!

You are such a good Momma Becks. Seriously good. I wish that you lived on my street. So I could come over for pancakes too.

Ah ... so familiar to me. As a kid, I hated to wake up for school, and wanted to sleep longer ... this was NOT the case when it came to snow days. I was out of the house by 7, playing hockey, having snowball fights ... ah, to be young again!

My back is killing me, by the way! I've had enough "exercise" to last a lifetime, I think!

You are way too kind.

I would have hidden when I heard the doorbell ring. :)

And then when they asked for pancakes, I would have fainted I think.

But you? You are a good mom.
