Yearning for Summer

katelyn tutu 037

Some jokes about the cold which I found HERE:

It was so cold...
hitchhikers were holding up pictures of thumbs!

It was so cold...
roosters were rushing into Kentucky Fried Chicken

and begging to use the pressure cooker!

It was so cold . . .
pickpockets were sticking their hands

in strangers' pockets just to keep them warm!

It was so cold . . .
the squirrels in the park were throwing themselves

at an electric fence!

It was so cold . . .
I chipped a tooth on my soup!

It was so cold . . .
Grandpa’s teeth were chattering - in the glass!

How cold is it

in your neck of the woods?

Great post and love the funnies! It's not terribly cold here in Seattle, just gray and damp and foggy and right now I'm starved for a little sun -- even if it came with snow! Ah, but this too shall pass -- eventually! Hope you're having a great week! Enjoy! Give Kaishon a big hug for me!

You don't even want to know ...

let me just say that we rented the Rug Doctor today because we figured the carpet would dry faster because we could open all our doors and windows...

hope your neck of the woods warms up SOON!

Arctic blast coming our way this week. Going to be in the teens. That's freaking cold for Southeast Texas! Wish I could just stay indoors.

Love the jokes - it's not too bad here, no snow but a lot of rain. Temps in the normal range now. Thx for dropping by! :D Love that photo - really makes me yearn for summer, too!

Me too! It's too cold. Brrr. Thanks for the summer shot.

I love this! It's cold here - so cold that I'm covered up with a fleece throw while I sit here on the computer!

Actually, it's really nice here...about 74 degrees and it should stay that way this week at least. It's funny to see people from other states here but the snowbirds will stay until at least April and then they head back to the cold.

This is fun. Here, it's the wind chill that makes it feel so cold and yesterday was so windy that a chicken laid the same egg twice. ;)

you crack me up ...

well, here in SOUTH carolina, it's in the 20s-30s during the day and in the teens at night. and not a lick of snow.

It was so cold Monday night that I thought my daughter was going to get frostbite. It was so windy Sunday on the way to church that some north wind barreling down almost blew all of us over. It's marginally more temperate now, but still not balmy.

Actually, right now there's a beautifully cool breeze blowing in through our open doors and dispelling the last of the heat from a lovely sunny summer day which reached 28C (82F), perfect swimming weather if only I could have been bothered bundling the kids into the car to go to the pool :-)

Don't worry, I won't be gloating AT ALL when it hits the high 30's early next week, the forecast is for 37C (98F) next Tuesday.

It's freezing, but bearable! Thanks for your visit!

Funny!! Well, how about 7 for a low and 20 for a high? Now, that is cold for Oklahoma. We also have 30 mph winds predicted. YUCK!

Now ya see? This is one time where it doesn't pay to be a Dirty Old Man - because all of my "It's so cold"s have to do with body parts - and I'm not sure we know each other well enough.

Haha...those are great! Let's see, when I rolled out of bed this morning at 5:30 AM, it was 17 FRIGID degrees! I am miserable here in the Deep South!!!

So funny. But weird me: I LOVE the cold! At least it's a better alternative than oppressive Texas summers. :)

I love cold weather!!! Probably because I was born and raised in the North of Mexico where it is usually hot! REALLY HOT! so now that I live in a place where it's cold and it snows I JUST LOVE IT!!!

Ha ha ha. I've never heard those jokes.

It's not cold here at all. We've been in the 70's all week.

I will have to remember those jokes: I drive school children around tomorrow and they are always bugging me for jokes and games!

It is FREEZING here!!! FREEZING! But, then I tell myself that I would rather have the cold NOW, as opposed to the end of March beginning of April.

Lovely summery photo, just what I need. We are locked in a recuring Artic weather system, snow and ice.

Brrr. Brrr. Yes, a yearn for summer seems to be always with me. It starts the end of August and I keep yearning until June 1. Love the photo. It's so carefree, fun and colorful!

As my dad always used to say, it's colder than a brass toilet seat on the shady side of an iceberg.

Oh, heavens, it's COLD here! I went out this evening for fifteen minutes and forgot to wear gloves - when I got home my fingers just would not come back to life! They were so cold it hurt. All OK now, but I'm in no hurry to go back outside!

Liz said...

LOL! It's pretty cold here! I am ready for Spring!

Rose said...

Thanks for the chuckles this morning:)Yes, it is COLD here, too! Up to 7-8 inches of snow supposed to fall and winds of 25 mph coming to blow the roads shut. All the schools are closing.

Sorry to hear about your friend moving away, but thank heavens for the internet and cell phones. When my youngest daughter moved across the country this summer, I was so sad, but we still talk nearly every day--I just can't give her a hug.

Great post! It is cold and snowy in Chicagoland... missing summer.

In my neck of the jungle it got down to 16C - 64F the other night - hardly even cool, but could sleep (after a fashion) with the fan off.
