Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first. ~Ernestine Ulmer

sunday citarMy best friend Jen

is a fantastic present giver.ice cream kit And by fantastic, I mean,

if there is a present with a zillion pieces.

or ridiculous mess capabilities,

she will get it for Kaish!ice cream 1 And he just loves her presents.ice cream 2 This Christmas she got him this Ice Cream making kit.

ice cream 3When I say it was messy,

well, that just barely covers what it was.

Messy to the max!icecream Jonathon, Shoshi, Maecy and Kaish

had a wonderful time

MAKING          A         MESS!ice cream 4 concocting ice cream flavors.ice cream 5 The only thing was…

they turned out so terribly

that no one could eat a bite!

Thankfully, we found some ice cream in the freezer

and called it a day!

I wonder what we can do next Sunday.

SundaysinmyCity Do you eat ice cream in the winter?

I wish I could say that I didn’t…

but I do!

this looks very fun. What a fun idea! What a great friend! What kind of flavors did they make? I am very curious! I like your leaf picture below. It is very nice. The colors are amazing. I am sure google images don't care. They don't say where they get the images, really.
You are wonderful.

Same here -- ice cream in the winter.

When I was a boy, we lived in Greece for 4 years. The Greeks couldn't fathom eating ice cream in the winter. You could buy it, but it was old and stale. We couldn't wait for the spring when the fresh ice cream was made!

Shoot, I do! I even drink iced coffee in the winter! :D lol.

How messy, I mean fun. I actually ate ice cream the other day when we got in the 60's here.

The messier the better, you know. And it USUALLY makes the product taste better, too; I wonder what happened? Somewhere, I have a recipe that we use in Cub Scouts; you put ice in a big ziplock bag. Then you put cream, sugar, vanilla..maybe one more thing? in a smaller ziplock and seal it tightly. You sprinkle rock salt on the ice, put the little bag with the cream inside the big bag and seal the big bag. Then the kid shakes, jiggles and rolls the bags around for maybe 10 min? And when they take the little bag out, they have ice cream! Oh, they LOVE it... and it's SOOOOO good (and not messy.. did you hear me? NOT messy!!!). Hmmm.. maybe THAT could be your adventure next Sunday?

THIS IS CUTE. AND FUNNY.
The girls ran out last night and bought ice cream for us. It is technically still winter...but it was over 80 degrees today.
We love icecream. YUMMY!!

Growing up we made homemade icecream all through the winter. Yum. Nothing like it. I'm not a big icecream eater but give me homemade any time! :)

Seems like that present had the potential to be great! Too bad it didn't work out and was messy, to boot. At least they had fun in the process.

I eat ice cream in the winter, but I prefer to sandwich it between a warm brownie and hot caramel......that makes it the PERFECT winter treat! :)

I like the pictures! I am not an icecream in winter person. It is one of the few things that I could take or leave. But I know I am rare that way :).

I like ice cream too. And durine the war (WWII) we made it using fresh fallen snow. In those days, ladies had a large "dish pan" to wash their dirty dishes in. And Mom would tell me to take the dishpan and go fill it with snow. And I was to pick fresh snow without any chimney soot on it and I did and I would bring it in the house and Mom would dribble some vanilla extract on it and then we would eat it. It tasted like ice cream only because of the flavoring and melted as soon as it hit your mouth.

That is the coolest!! My son would have made inedible flavors, too. Looks like they had a blast making them though.

They look like a really nice bunch of kids. Shame that the ice-cream did not come out so well. But I guess to have fun was the most important aspect of the day.

A good fun post.

I'm glad you had backup ice cream.

I have to say that I actually crave ice cream more in the winter than in the summer.

Sure looks like they had a great time. I have never once made my own ice cream....guess I don't know what I'm missing then!
