I know you are just dying to hear about the Jersey Shore...

I know you are just DYING to
hear about the Jersey Shore vacation-
but I have a dilemna
and I need your help : )
Bet you didn't know that YoU
were my own personal counselor,
Did ya?
Well, pull up a chair.
I will intersperse some vacation pictures
along with the drama!
Cause I just KNOW you are dying
to see my sweet little family!
Here is the problem!
Oh no, no, no,
Ben is not the problem,
I meant, Here is the problem I need your help with!
The night before we left for vacation I got a call.
Now, you know how it is the night before vacation, right?
All calm and happy and peaceful?
Well, maybe at your house, but not at ours!
I was up to my knees in laundry,
searching for empty suitcases,
and of course we were COMPLETELY out of groceries,
everyone was starving,
to call it chaotic would be kind.
So, the phone rings.
Lo and behold it is my salesman from the camera shop.
I really like him.
{He faithfully encourages me to spend massive
amounts of money on lenses and such.}
Anyway, he is calling to tell me that
he is ON HIS WAY OVER!
What, in the world?!!?!?!??!?!?!
Apparently, and I truly don't remember this at all,
I had told him that he and his 'Regional Manager'
could come over for a "presentation"
and he was lost.
Now, I immediately got nervous.
The house was insane.
Gary HATES 'presentations' of any kind.
I can't say no to anything....
I asked him if we could reschedule
and he said it would be "So much better to meet tonight-
he had something 'life changing' to show me.
Hmmmmmm. I gave him directions.
I told you I can't say no.
Stop getting mad at me already : ).

Gary is not happy.
I think the word livid might be appropriate.
Kaish is "StArViNg" in only a way
that a 9 year old can be starving.
The door bell rings.
Right away, I welcome them,
apologize for the mess,
and say I have exactly one hour
and then I must continue packing for our trip.
So- they give their presentation.
It's about a mortgage program called
United First.
I actually think it is very smart.
I would actually do it.
If I had an extra $3,500.
and if my husband said OK.
They stay for 2 and a half hours.
2 and a half.
I can not convince them to leave.
Belive me when I say that I tried!
I say I will think about it
and I say I have to consult with my husband.
The branch manager says he will mail me a contract.
He wants me to sign it
(oh, and write a check for $3,500 too)
and send it back during the month of June.
Apparently, my camera salesman,
must have a sale in June.
Well, now I feel terrible.
My nice cameraman needs a sale.
My husband is IRATE.
I just don't know what to do.
I shoo them out.
I tell Gary about the program and he says NO WAY!
I told my Daddy about the program and he says
send your mortgage company the extra $3,500.
Do not pay them money!
My brother, the accountant, he says no too.
OK fine, I am not going to do it.
But then the calls start.
Every. Single. Day. while we were at the beach.
My camera man.
His regional manager.
His regional manager's wife.
I thought this had to be a joke!
So- on to my dilemna.
It isn't: Should I get the United First program
It is: How do I tell the Camera Man to
leave me alone.

I really do think he is nice.
I do like his program,
I just have been advised not to participate.
I need help.
I feel bad.
Advice? Words of wisdom? New camera store ideas : )
Bring it on Counselor!
Oh, and before everyone says
how lovely I look in the pictures : )
well, that isn't me.
That, is my sister Betsy.
I look just like her.
Give (or Take)
100 and some pounds...

It's wedding week at I Heart Faces.
Fun, fun, fun!
And they have the coolest judge ever!

well, then I would be a Super Star!
You should go check her out!
Even if you don't love
weddings.
Who doesn't love weddings?
Have you gone to many this year?
I haven't gone to even one yet this summer.
I like weddings.

Withdrawl

I seriously have a blogging problem.
I was trying not to blog this week
(since we are on VaCaTiOn and all)
but I just can't help myself : ).
I was having withdrawl.
And there was NO way
I could get thru it
without one teeny tiny post!
I have to hurry though!
If Gary sees me on here,
I am DEAD meat!
I am going to join a new
meme thing-a-ma-jig today.
It's called You Capture
and the theme is Summer.
Here are a few
summer pictures
from our vacation!

Goodbye for now-

We are going 'down the shore.'
It's a little dumpy and
a wee bit cheesy....
but we LOVE it!
See you later, alligators!
What is your favorite beach to visit?

lest you forget
how much you love the beach.”

Blocks and boats

Gold and silver

But worth a million
is my Son.

Do you have kids?
What do you have more of?
Boys or girls?
Who do you think is the naughtiest?

Here is a FANTASTIC resource for you.

My Daddy

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.
~Clarence Budington Kelland
Blessed indeed is the man
who hears many gentle voices call him father!
~Lydia M. Child, Philothea: A Romance, 1836

I love my father as the stars
he's a bright shining example
and a happy twinkling in my heart.

Are we not like two volumes of one book?
~Marceline Desbordes-Valmore

Old as she was, she still missed her daddy sometimes.

~Gloria Naylor

There's one sad truth in life I've found
While journeying east and west
The only folks we really wound
Are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know,
We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow
To those who love us best.
~Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Parenting Advice; Oh My!

Well, it's time for Mama Kat's prompts again!
I am picking this prompt:
Share a piece
of unsolicited parenting advice.
Ummmmmmmmm, well, I know A LOT of people
are no doubt dying to know MY parenting advice.
I mean, it is CLEAR, that I am a parenting genius
because, who but a genius, would allow-
even promote- Fighting!

A good bought of fighting
is always welcome at our house!

And then of course, there is my allowance
of fire play.
Only the VERY best mothers allow that : ).

You can see why I hesitate
to share even MORE wisdom...
since the wisdom I have already passed on
is truly amazing!
I will just share this one last piece
of unsolicited advice:

Have a house full of laughter and love.
There are millions and millions of bad things
that happen every day.
Life is full of sadness and hard times.
Make sure your home is filled with
as much love and happiness as
you can possibly stuff into it.

I usually only answer one prompt,
but I loved this one too:
What do you aspire to be?

I aspire to be more like my parents.
Of course I didn't understand
their rules and guidelines
when I was growing up,
but as I look back now,
I can see the love in everything
they said and did.
I aspire to be a parent like they were.
And are.
God gave me the perfect parents.

If you don't have any blogging ideas today
you should play along
.
It is SO much fun!

Leave me a piece of your own parenting advice.
I seriously need all the help I can get!

Love,
a Mommy (Who Promotes Fighting and Fire Play)

XO

Our venture & a Worthwhile Cause

On Saturday,
My Daddy called with a plan.
A plan to go to a great big hunting and fishing store.
Only thing was-
We don't hunt.
Or fish.
EVER.
My Dad thought it would be a good time though.
So, we got in the VAN and ventured to:

Have you ever heard of it before?
It was interesting.

We saw many unique animals.
Mostly stuffed.

We tried on 'coon skin caps.
(My Mom wanted to buy one,
but, thankfully, I talked her out of it...)

Kaish was fascinated.
He couldn't get enough.

Animals enchant him!

See what I mean?
Some things were living!
Kaish didn't want to leave.
Ever.
I forced him
after 2 and a half hours.
We did not buy this turkey.
Kaish LOVED the tail!
Who wouldn't love a tail like that?
We would have bought this hat-
but we got it for free.
We had lunch at Cracker Barrel.
(Very healthy? Yeah right!)
Kaish won.

Kaish curled up in his blanket and fell asleep
on the way home.
He dreamed of moose.
Fun dreams : )

Have you ever been?
They are all over.
If one is near you
and your kid likes animals,
I would highly recommend it.
ABC Wednesday is right here.
And Wordful Wednesday is right here.
Happy clicking!
Oh, and one last thing!
While you are clicking,
could you please click over to the
Don't you wish this was W week with all those W's?
Hallie Twomey is having a fundraiser raffle.
6 years ato Hallie's Dad received a new heart.
That is beautiful.
I am going to enter.
The prizes sound great.
But even better than the nice prizes...
you have a chance
to make a difference in the world.
We all need to do that.
Every. Single. Day.
Make a difference : ).

Tales from the Circus!

Hey, there! Hoop-la! the circus is in town!
Have you seen the elephant? Have you seen the clown?
Have you seen the dappled horse gallop round the ring?
Have you seen the acrobats on the dizzy swing?
Have you seen the tumbling men tumble up and down?
Hoop-la! Hoop-la! the circus is in town!
Michael James Dennis
Let us cherish the hope
that the day is not far distant
when we will be in the midst
of this next adventure.
It is in the compelling zest
of high adventure and of victory,
and in creative action,
that man finds his supreme joys.

Keep the circus going inside you,
keep it going,
don't take anything too seriously,
it'll all work out in the end.

have resulted from crystallization of memories
of the circus, popular tales or travel.”
Henri Matisse

Our circus outing was
well,
I was going to sum it up with these three words:
Dirty! Sticky! Expensive!
But then,
Kaish summed it up like this:
Amazing, Unbelievable, Scary
and then had to add another word
even though I said just 3 : )
FaNtAsTiC
so I changed my opinion.
These are the most
wonderful days
of my life!
We saw a rainbow when we were leaving.
How cool is that?
Do you like the circus?
