A Quote to live by-

strangers 016 b&wMy Grammy

was exquisite.

And she used to tell me this quote

when I was little.

She told it to me a lot.

She LOVED helping people.

Adored it.

I don’t think there was one person on the planet

she didn’t love.

I try to live like her each day.

And in living like her,

I know I am also living like

my heavenly Father.

“Kindness is the language

which the deaf can hear

and the blind can see.'

Mark Twain

strangers 014 b&w

"Love suffers long and is kind;

love does not envy;

love does not parade itself,

is not puffed up;"

I Corinthians 13:4

May your day be filled with kindness.

What is one way you show kindness each day?

Writer’s Workshop is today!

I love your post! Your grammy was a very wise woman. A way I show kindness is by driving my friend's daughter to and from school. She has six children and they go to different schools. So I try to help take away some of the stress this way.

You inspire the socks off of me! One way I show kindness each day is I give my girls a backrub as we're watching TV each night. It's a favorite part of their day...and mine, too! ;)

What a great face! Great picture. Love the quotes and you are right we should live our lives to do kindness. Well, I try and speak only kindness everyday. Some days my true self comes through but I try and just be kind.

I have always loved that a sarcastic smart-a** and curmudgeon like Twain is famous for some of the more insightful sayings in use to this day. It always makes me wonder if the attitude was just cover for his inner softie.

So, now I know where you get your amazing, affirming personality! It's all about love, Becky... and I can tell that you know that. Jesus couldn't have been more specific with His commands to love one another. We Christians get all "puffed up" about our faith, and yet according to Jesus, it pales in comparison to love. So Amen, sister.. preach it! And keep rockin' those amazing photos. What's the story behind them?

Excellent words to live by.

Sometimes I have to stop and think about what acts of kindness I do. Not that I don't do any, but they may just be obscure simple acts that I do without thinking. Perhaps I need to concentrate on them more so I can learn to appreciate them.

Thank you for sharing,

Wonderful quotes for sure! Wow, sadly I don't think I show kindness every day. I tell my husband I love him several times each day...but that's not necessarily kindness.

Something to think about for sure!

I love grannies.

I show kindness by not beating my children when they drive me crazy...does that count?

lifebythecreek said...

Heeee heeee. Mama Kat, I think you may show the greatest love that a momma can... isn't that called mercy?

I did the grocery shopping so my husband didn't have to and tomorrow I'm meeting the lady that is dropping off the donuts and bagels for our floor and carrying them up.

Oh, and I'm always kind to our cats!

Hmmmm... I show kindness by cleaning up poopy drawers each and every day. Yes I do.
I don't think that is what you meant.

Love these great quotes. Your grammy a very wise woman! My way of showing kindness is making sure it starts with those I live with at home...in my words, my actions and how I treat them...

....and then being kind to every person I come into contact with...especially in the simple, small acts such as smiling, looking them in the eye, stopping to let them cross the street even if I don't have to, letting their car park in the spot or go before me, giving kindness in my smile and words to cashiers or waitresses or whom ever I cross paths with.

I LOVE that quote about kindness! I hope you don't mind if I use it.
