What cozy pictures!! I love it. And no worries... I've not got a Christmas tree! I actually have a small forest of miniature trees all over the place but no large decorated beautiful Christmas tree.

Sounds and looks like a fun time! Love your camera phone...pretty decent....Im gonna have to do the tree thing over at I heart faces!!!

Wow that looked like fun! You guys sure did get a lot snow, we did not get that much at all and we are way further North than you are. Too funny about your tree! I can't believe you don't have it up yet? Is it fake?

Unknown Mami said...

Looks like much fun was had.

If you are doing a real tree, it just means it will be fresher. If you are doing a fake tree it just means you will be more excited about it on Christmas.

Love the picture with the flash of SUN behind your SON ... And what beautiful snow!! Wish we had a little bit down here.

It looks like you all had a great day!! It is kind of nice having a nice big snowstorm like this just before the holidays:)

My husbands family puts the tree up on Christmas Eve every year. They go to mass and then put it up before the kids go to bed and then when they come down in the morning it was "decorated by santa"

Happy Holidays to you and your sweet family. Merry Christmas!

Lisa

That sounds like so much fun...it SHOULD be a tradition!! :)

Oh.. if I had all of that snow to play in, my tree wouldn't be up either! And although my tree has been up for a while, I STILL haven't gotten my Christmas cards mailed out. Guess I just need to write "Happy New Year" on the envelope and pretend that I meant it to be that way. We can share mother of the year.. OK?

Busy Bee Suz said...

This looks like so much fun...you are giving your son so many great memories...putting up a tree isn't the MOST important thing right now...playing is. :0

Don't feel bad! We didn't put our tree up until today!

Beautiful as usual.
I put my tree up the day after thanksgiving. For me it's too much work to not have it up for a REALLY long time. However, usually it's down on or before the day after Xmas.
Happy Holidays!

I can remember sledding as a kid..ain't nuthin better then that..well except for the hot cocoa and cookies that awaited us.

We always get our christmas tree on my birthday wich is Dec 1. I've done since I was a kid but honestly the fact that you don't have it yet doesnt mean your a bad mom..tell everyone you are going"Dutch" this year...alot of dutch people dont put a tree up at all!

Fabulous pictures with your cell phone!!! What hill is that? Late in the afternoon I came upon the sledding hill at Green Lane, I forgot about that! Tara does not have proper snow attire to be out that long, but the kids did have fun playing here for awhile yesterday.

Our tree, well it's been up since the day after Thanksgiving, but that was all Tara, she did most of the decorating.

Have a wonderful week, stay warm and stay safe!

Nezzy said...

What memories you are makin', ya don't need no stinkin' tree! LOL! I always put ours up right after Thanksgiving but due to our lovely (very loose term) trip to TX, I've been running about eleven days late all the way! That's major for a control freak like me.

I just wanted to thank you for poppin in with your sweet comment.

As we say down here in the hills and hollers of the Ozarks, ya'll have a beautifully blessed day!!!

Marilyn said...

Hey what a great tradition. My MD bunch went sledding yesterday too. Now, don't worry about that tree. Christmas will still come. By the way, I took ours down after the Sugarplums left on Sunday. Yeah, I know, but it didn't seem right to keep it up with them gone. We will go to their home for our celebration. Enjoy that snow.

Buckeroomama said...

I love the pics of the kids all cozy. :)

While I would dearly love to have snow -mainly because J desperately wants to experience snow at Christmas, --I'm not sure if I'm up for the cold. It's only 11oC here and I'm freezing!

Love the first 'snow scene' picture and the perfect sun-flare shot - so wintery! Have a lovely Christmas :D

What a great entry! I think that the most precious photos are the candid, stolen shots of real happenings.. and you've taken authentic "tradition" photos here.. Good job!

You are creating such beautiful memories for the children.
Happy Holidays!

Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog. Your pix look so fun - who cares if the tree is up or not? We're overseas right now, so we're missing the big snowstorm that apparently hit our hometown in Virginia. (but frankly, I'm not a fan of cold weather, so I'm not too upset about it.)

Sarah Jones said...

Man, I wish we'd get snow. Just not going to happen around my neck of the woods! I love your shots, they are great (aren't camera phones awesome??)

The perfect treats for a perfect day!

Our tree went up the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Get moving - you only have a few more days!!!!! :)

Drew said...

Well, you could be like me and have your Christmas tree up, but the bottom half has no ornaments and the lights are practically laying on the floor. Gotta love kids. :)

Dot O said...

Wouldn't that be a great tradition! I don't recall my kids ever sledding the weekend before Christmas. In fact, I don't recall a storm this big prior to Christmas in the last 20 years!

Kaish looks very content and I think he'd love for this to be an annual event!

Bunch of Barrons said...

We got snow this weekend too! It was fun being all snowed in, a good chance for us to relax a little before the week of Christmas craziness sets in. :) Don't feel bad about the tree...sometimes I wish I HADN'T put mine up. haha. My son keeps taking the decorations off, and has broken a few. :) Merry Christmas!

That's exactly how we spent our weekend. It was so much fun! There's still time to get your tree up...no worries!

I wish it snowed every year at Christmas. What a great tradition that would be.

You DO get mother of the year for being out in that cold snow with the kids. My kids only get to do that if their uncle or grandpa takes them. Fun memories!

How FUN!!!! You are the best Mama for sledding!! I LOVE doing that. We have no snow, or I'd be doing it right now!

Thanks for the blog love the other day sweetie!!

Thanks for sharing. I will post mine soon.

PS: Our tree has been up since Dec.1 ( it is my birthday present to my self), but my shopping is not done and I need to mail stuff. I am off to the store

Our tree has been up about two weeks now, but it took me FOREVER. I almost didn't put it up because I was afraid the baby would manhandle it, and I've been right about that. At least I kept almost all the ornaments in their boxes for this year!

Our tree went up the day after Thanksgiving. It will stay up through January. I would keep it up all year round if I could. Well, technically I 'could' but we don't. We do have a little tree that we call our 'holiday tree', we put hearts on it for Valentine's Day, shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day, eggs and bunnies for Easter...well, you get the picture. I love it!

I hope you get your tree up soon so it doesn't miss Christmas!

That first picture of Kaish makes me freeze...he looks SO COLD!

haha. Oh please. Mine just got put up a couple days ago & thanks to me freaking out, stomping my feet & insisting that I wasn't moving til the Christmas boxes were brought out so we could put up the dang thing. Then I proceeded to do 99% on my own, just like I do every year.
Gotta love Christmas. :)

Our tree goes up November 11. Before you question me, yes I know it is Remembrance Day. We celebrate Remembrance Day in the morning and do crafts and then set up for Christmas in the afternoon.

Beautiful photos. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog from SITZ. I noticed there are four children in the photo of you and your hubby. Are all of them grandchildren, except Kaishon? Is Kaishon your adopted son? You have a cute blog and sense of humor. Have a blessed week. This is the first time, honestly THE first time I've gotten my tree up early. I did it myself too, as my husband was traveling. I felt so capable when it was up and only leaning a tiny bit. Kathi

I've only had my tree up for a couple weeks, but don't worry I've just finished my Christmas shopping today! I still have baking to do tomorrow, lol!

I think sledding is an awesome tradition! When my little guy is bigger I plan on taking him sledding, it should be a lot of fun!

Great pictures! :D

LOL! Your tree isn't up! :D

Ours goes up the day after Thanksgiving. It is a tradition. It started when I was a kid. I tried to continue it to this day.

BUT then the day after Christmas I can't wait to tear it down... because it just clutters my house... LOL!

I love your sledding pics. We have been trying to gof or weeks but there hasn't been enough snow yet.

I have actually put my tree up TWICE. Once at our home then took it down and put it back up at our Cabin.

Merry Christmas my friend!!!!!!!!!

What fun! That snow looks like soooo much fun. I grew up in Kazakhstan, where it snows regularly every winter, but I now live in Mississippi, where white stuff on the group is identified by most kids as cotton.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. That was really sweet. You always encourage me; I really appreciate it. Merry Christmas!

Wow..... look at all of those sledders (is that a word?). You wouldn't see a sight like that in the south. It looks like so much fun!

I have had our tree up since Thanksgiving night.
