Jonathon’s Skateboard

Jonathon got a new skateboard.

He is very excited.

He asked me to photograph it.scateboard I asked him how he would pay for my services.

You know, since I charge

every one and their brother for pictures…

(PSYCHE! : )

scateboard 001 Jonathon said he would pay me with a picture.

scateboard 002 And then he and Shoshi demonstrated

what he meant by ‘pose for pictures.’

Little punks!

Shoshi wants to learn how to skateboard too.

Kaish?

sunshine kaishi

Not so much….

Man I love him!

My grandson loves to go to the skate park! He just turned eight last month and amazes me with his 'tricks'. He's proud when he shows me and so am I...but it still makes me nervous. I think I need to get him a helmet for Christmas.

Great pictures and Kaishon is quite the handsome young man!

Love the pictures! And yes my boys "attempt" to skateboard... which would explain the holes in most of the jeans they wear,

My son actually uses the ripstick. HE is insanely good at it for a 6 year old. I have no idea how he does it. I tried... almost killed myself. This winter he will learn to ski and then next year maybe snowboarding. He is athletic. I am shocked Kaish doesn't want to skateboard. I thought it was the "cool" thing to do!

At least he's not a follower! :D

My little guy doesn't skateboard(yet), but his cousins do and they love it! What a cool board, Jonathon is a lucky kid!

Nope, all my kids are too old to have known anything about skateboards when they were that age and I don't have any grand kids. So I just tend to look at skateboards and shake my head and be glad they weren't around back then. That is a cool looking board though, if I do say so!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The pictures are great - and no, my boys never did skateboarding. Their thing has always been paintball and go karts.

You take such great pictures! My youngest son was really into skateboarding until he broke his arm and then he had to decide between that and football. Football won but he then had to have surgury on his knee caused by football. Ugh!!!!! XXOO Lori

First love the Ralph Waldo Emerson quote!

As for skating, I used to do it all the time in Puerto Rico. Have a few scars to prove it LOL My boys don't =( I got bth of them boards but they never got into it. They do love to rollerblade. Maybe because its what everyone seems to do by me?

Cute kids. I love the freckles, and his poses.
My boys were never too good on skateboards but that was many years ago when they first came out. The boards were not as good as they are today. Older son broke his ankle on one. Had a cast, not to much fun for any of us.

#1 wants to, but I'm scared. He gets hurt a lot just using his feet to get around. #2 will when he's a little bit older. I'm sure by the time he is #1's age he'll be doing olies with the best of them!

Hi, Coming to you by way of SITS. Thank you for your comment. Use to skatboard myself. Too many years ago to mention. Loved it.
Many thrills and spills. Love your photos. I don't think I would know what to do if there were no leaves to rake.

Hello! I'm visiting you back! Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog. I get so excited when I get even one comment - so thanks!

Now... HOLY HANNAH! What a beautiful blog you have!! And the photo in your banner is absolutely stunning! I sat back and just looked into those beautiful brown eyes... what wisdome lies there! Great shot too!

I skateboarded once. Just once. That was enough for me. I then marched pursposefully into my living room and sat down again with a book. Standing on things with wheels is NOT for me. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Regarding advent calendars - check out http://www.kidscraftweekly.com/ if you haven't already. The latest newsletter has some great ideas! I am using punch cups (red and green) and stapling them to a ribbon - that's my quick and easy idea for this year :)

Thank you for stopping by on my SITS day!

I am glad you still blog with me even though we may not see eye to eye on "political" matters.... but sometimes it makes us "think" and stronger when we see other viewpoints.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family! My kids do not skateboard but I think {he} would like too!

Fondly,

Love the skateboard, almost makes me want to have a go, except I think it is best done when you are young and bounce off the floor better. Great photos.

I imagine it won't be long before my grandson will be asking for a skateboard - he's a real dare devil. Thankfully, skateboards weren't around when my daughters were young or I just KNOW one of them would have lost all her teeth! lol

Tumblewords: said...

My grandson would love this - he's trying to encourage me to learn - says old people CAN do it. But so far I've avoided being caught in a double dare and all my parts are intact! Terrific photos!!

Great pics. That's some skateboard. Tara can skateboard a little, they used to skateboard in our pool. Silly kids... but what she rides really well is a Rip-Stick. Sorta like a skateboard. They don't seem to be as popular here (PA) as in FL.

In high school I was part of the original skateboard craze (at least the one that proceeded the current one).

None of us were very good -- and our boards were nothing like this one -- so mainly we played a game that involved all of us starting at the top of a long hill then try to knock each other off in a contest of last man standing. What fun!

You bet-ya. We had the old timey ones that were plain. Have a great Thanksgiving.

My husband skateboarded a little. Back in the mid to late 90s that was the thing for the boys to do. Funny to think of when we started dating how proud he was that he could "ollie" higher than his friend Ed. We've known each other since we were 16.

No, thank God, because I am afraid of blood and bones protruding from skin! ;)

I'm with you! I would be happy if my child didn't ride a skateboard. I have a daughter so I think I just may be in the clear. Although, she did just say "I want a skateboard." Hmmm?

Nice looking skateboard though!

jay said...

Oh that's funny! And cute, too! Lovely boys, all of them. :)

One of mine had a brief fling with a skateboard but was never good at the balancing thing. The other loooooved his skateboard - and his BMX bike and mini-motorbike and in-line skates and everything with wheels!

That is one cool skateboard!

Well, my husband skateboarded back in the day for a team. I didn't know him then(we grew up in different states) but from what I understand he was very good. He picks and tells me he's going to buy one and start back up. I kindly remind him that we are in our 30s now and our bones won't stand up to that. LOL! So for now I tolerate X games when it's on.
