I’ll take a little bit of sun flare, por favor!

sunflare 007

It’s Sun Flare week at I Heart Faces.

logo i heart faces

Oh yes it is!

Now the funny thing about sun flare is

no one ever likes it.

Well, except photographers.

Photographers just love it.

They get all weak in the knees for it!

The regular people I know

are like

“Ummmmmmmmmmmm, Did you make a mistake?

What is that?

Can you fix it?

We don’t like that picture!'”

So I am all like,

“Ummmmmmmmmmmm, you are kidding me right?

This is SO cool!

Photographers have the hardest time getting this.

Everyone LOVES it.

Did you change your mind

now that you know how cool it is?”

And they are like

“Ummmmmmmmmmmmm, NO!

We didn’t change our minds at all.

We think you are a psycho!

Now back away from our door

with your pictures Lady.”

OK. OK. Maybe they don’t really

call me a psycho!

They do want me to back away from the door though.

Back away so they can hug me : )

Cause even though they hate the sun flare

they usually like the other pictures.

And that makes me so happy.

Taking pictures makes my heart happy.

What makes you heart happy?

Oh, and P to the S!

I know this picture is not my regular style-

there is just something about it that I loved though.

It popped out to me and said

“Pick me! Pick me!”

(and you know, when a picture pops out

and screams at you….well, you just gotta listen!)

Wait until I tell you all about this fun couple.

They will make you smile!

Kelly and Jason

4Eva!

I think it looks beautiful. I can see why you'd like that style.

I like those sun flares too that everyone else looks bewildered about. The photo is cool!

I ♥ Sun Flare in a big way...just wish I knew how to capture it more consistently. I need to get out there and practice, but Ohio never has any sun anymore! LOL!

Love your entry Becky. :)

I love sun flares, but I'm not very good at capturing them. :)

Hee! you are SO funny.. um, wait. Who are you, anyway? Do I know you? hehe. LOVE your sunflaire, by whatEVER name you use to post it! I am still laughing at the story from the workshop, and now you've made me laugh even more as I imagine friends staring at your sunflare photos and thinking "Poor thing... she was SO good, but she's lost her touch..." If they only knew...

That isn't sun flare, it's the blinding light reflecting off her engagement ring!! Seriously, that's the first thing I thought, gorgeous ring, what a reflection off that rock! Hope you have a great week!

Sarah said...

Gorgeous! No one ever likes my sun flare pics because they think I messed up!! And I'm always like, I did that on PURPOSE people!

Drew said...

Rebeckah,

You're so good at writing articles and making me laugh. Can you keep my site updated while you're at it? I might actually have followers then. :) I love this picture and the fun (but maybe not true) story behind it.

Oh, and BTW, no house cleaners for me. I'd be up all night cleaning my house for the house cleaners that I think the only good that would come out of it would be that my house would be clean. Of course, then I would be tired. I have a feeling Mark would be okay with me being tired...if our house was clean. Enough talking in circles. :) I'm heading to bed! After I leave Pam a comment. Oh, and maybe 10 other people. :)

Mama Kayla said...

I'm with ya. Gotta love the sun flare! :-D

Bahahaha!!!! Oh, don't we all know that conversation rather well! When I started practicing I was out the front with my camera shooting sun flare over the roof of the house in front of us and my partner asked what on earth I was doing, when I showed him my beautiful images of perfect star burst sunflare... well, let's just say - He didnt quite get it!! lol!!
Love it, awesome job!!!

SKELLER said...

of course your pretend conversation cracks me up!! been there, done that!

y'know, I'm crazy 'bout flare. but a whole lotta people aren't.

I shot a darling family this weekend. I surely hope they like flare, cause I got a bunch! hehehe.

lovely, fun portrait. I bet the couple loves it!!

Omigoodness... you're so right about how only photogs seem to like sun flare. haha. When my hubby saw some of mine he asked me if I didn't want to move our son to a different spot in the yard. haha.

I think you captured it perfectly in your image. Hooray for photogs who love sun flare!

I love your sun flare!! I haven't tried one of these yet - our weather last week, after the theme was announced, wasn't conducive to taking the shots. When the sun finally made an appearance, my family was nowhere to be found!

My family being together makes my heart happy!

I love that you are psycho. Cute psycho!!!!!
I also have pictures pop out at me...sometimes it can be scarey, and sometimes it can be good. THis one is GOOD!!!!

Hayley @ When I Grow UP said...

Funny you should ask. My photo this week definitely includes 3 things that make my heart happy...4 if you include the fact that I was taking the picture!

I'm with you...I love sunflare, but I also know many who do not. I am a pro at capturing it, but not always the faces within the shot too. (This week's I heart Faces tutorial helped.)

Great entry, as usual. Great post too!!

I am the sort of guy who enjoys to seek fresh stuff. Currently I'm fabricating my personalized photovoltaic panels. I am doing it all alone without the assistance of my men. I'm using the net as the only path to acheive that. I stumbled upon a very amazing website which explains how to contruct solar panels and wind generators. The place explains all the steps needed for solar panel construction.

I am not really sure about how accurate the info given there is. If some guys over here who have xp with these works can have a see and give your feedback in the page it would be grand and I'd highly treasure it, cause I really passion solar panel construction.

Tnx for reading this. U guys are great.
