Jessi gets ogled!

Last week
my sweet neighbor Jessi
-age 13-
started helping me with a project.
We went thru 2 Oprah magazines
and picked out the images we wanted to try to copy.
She wants to be a model
and I want to be a photographer.
Well…sort of, kind of any way!pumpkin patch kimmy cheeseburger shoshi park 019 This was our first try!
I did edit a little more moodily like the ad,
but Jessi and I both hated it!
So I changed it to bold and bright!
magazine jessi 3  magazine jessi 2 So where is Jessi getting ogled you are wondering?
Well, the neighbors driving by think we are odd!
well, let’s just say, last week while we were doing this-
she stood at her patio door and waved a broom at us!

I am hoping that broom shaking is a beginning sign
of friendship!
Or not!
We’ll see!
Will definitely keep you posted!
Do you like being in pictures?
Me?
Not. So. Much!

She is beautiful!!!!

I like being in pictures that I choose and edit myself. ;-) Nice thing about having my own blog is I can leave them out if I want (and I usually do!).

Maybe the broom shaking was a nice Halloween greeting for you. ;)

She has a beautiful face and is very photogenic. The pictures are very nice but I don't like the pose, even in the magazine.

Broom shaking means she loves you :)

I think it's a great photo! She is really pretty and i love her eyes :) Maybe it's the pose you don't like? Hmm.... Oh, and a neighbor hates you? Impossible! You are so sweet! I guess some people just naturally have a sour personality...

You have an awesome blog!

You need to get us a picture of the broom shaker lady. Ha I'd love to see her. Great pictures. Jess is a beaut.

Cute pics. Jessi is a natural beauty. Freckles and blue eyes!

I do not like being in pictures, that's why you almost NEVER see me!

Maybe the lady with the broom wants her picture taken!

Beautiful girl. Beautiful picture. :-)

I hate being in pictures which is both unfortunate and ironic as I married a photographer.

Lolli said...

I would love to have someone like that--to experiment with and learn with. Great job!

Wow I really like them both. i like the contrast and her eyes in the first one but the over exposure and brightness on the second hides her freckles (Which I actually like so it doesn't matter) but I think her eyes are just stunning in both. She is beautiful and will make a gorgeous model! I like how the subtle touch of jewelry keeps you drawn to the photo. I think this is one of the best photos you have ever taken. Definately a iheartfaces keeper for a contest down the road.

also the lady with the broom... she just wants you to throw dirt at her so she can sweep it up! :D Just kidding

I love the pics. The girl in the ad is smizing a bit more. Amazing job!

Creative shot and I hope Jessi succeeds. Oggling neighbor can be unnerving to say the least. I wonder what the broom was all about.

photowannabe said...

Oops, I forgot to say that I don't like my picture taken much either. I always end up with a plastic smile or some wierd expression.

Beautiful photos! Maybe I should start experimenting with magazines like this.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I am totally addicted to your blog now (as though I don't have enough to read..haha!)

How about a hidden video of the crazy neighbor?
She's got such pretty eyes!
I used to hate being in pictures. Now I cope by making silly faces in 50% of the ones I'm in.

A broom, oh my! She is beautiful, and you took a great picture!! :)

She is beautiful! And no I don't like having my picture taken. I will have my picture taken with my husband, kids or grandkids or something like that but NOT by myself...and I only agree to these because I want these memories with my loved ones.
Sorry about your neighbor. It most likely has nothing to do with you so try not taking it personal. No matter who it is she likely finds something to be upset about or to dislike. Kinda sad for her. She misses out on a lot of life being unhappy and a really great neighbor!

She is so beautiful. That second photo is really great!

Are you kidding me with her eyes? Jeez. Gorgeous!

a broom shaking is definately a sign of friendship. I shake my brooms at neighbors all of the time to get them to come over and talk. It works like a charm!

Pumpkin Delight said...

Uhhh, no, don't like pictures. If you took them of me, I'd shake a broom at you too!

Seriously though, the broom lady makes me laugh. How can she not like you?

WhisperingWriter said...

Beautiful photo!

No, I don't like being in pictures though. I'm not that photogenic.

I LOVE her freckles!

That is a great shot. I love being in photos. If I am ever in your neck of the woods I'd love to be your model.

Buckeroomama said...

You are a very good photographer! I like your take better than the one on the cut-out.

Yeah, me neither. I don't like being in pictures. I prefer to be the one taking them instead. :)

This is such a great idea! She is beautiful and you are a steady shot!

Wow.

And maybe time will mellow the neighbor.

Alicia said...

Oh my gosh...LOL about the lady and the broom!!

She is beautiful, Rebeckah!!

Melinda said...

Wow! She is stunning, as is your photography. As for me...I don't care too much for being in photos either. I always have a crooked smile, or oily skin, or double chins...the list goes on and on : )

BJ_Mama said...

I don't mind pictures....as long as they are good! (you know, get me from a good angle, or...DELETE!)

GREAT job on the photos! Her EYES are AMAZING!

She has a beautiful face and freckles!

Busy Bee Suz said...

Jessi is beautiful...but why are she and the magazine model trying to pull their faces off?
I think your neighbor just put a curse on you with the broom. Boy, she must be a miserable soul.
I used to hate my picture being taken, but now wish their were more of me in my skinny/young days, so now I don't mind so much, cause I know it is only going to get worse later on.

I love the picture of Jesse. She is a pretty girl and the natural nature of the photo (bad nails and all) is so great!

I think the pictures are lovely!
She has beautiful eyes and true beauty!

Don't stress about the neighbor not liking you, we are not meant to be friends with everybody:)

Love how the two of you are learning together. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Your portraits are always lovely. The latest model very pretty, like everyone else, I prefer the second photo. Terence Donovan used to take some amazing fashion portraits which might give you some more poses for Jessi after a google image search.
Maybe your neighbour is offering you a ride on her broom.

She is a very beautiful girl, but if you'd like some modelling advice.....hand modelling is another thing. They need makeup also, esp nails. They photograph better from the side to make them look long and elegant. Hope you don't mind my tips.

Cathy said...

I love it. Actually I most love the first moody one. What a great idea to copy the magazine. I think I like yours better than the magazine.

Oh, and I think the nails the way they are add to the mood and communicate who she is.
