Medicine for the soul.

books 2 And my Daddy.

Engrossed in a car book

because the store did not have any tractor books!

books 3 My sweet Mommy, perusing the shelves.

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend.
Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.”

~Groucho Marx

I love to read, but never have the time anymore. Once my kiddos are a bit older, perhaps I'll get to read again! But for now, I read a lot of children's books. Currently my daughter's favorite is her book about dinosaurs.

We do enjoy going to the bookstore. It's always a fun activity for the whole family...especially when Grandpa goes with us. Books on him!

I love your pictures...we are big book readers over here!

Right now I'm reading The Fixer Upper by Mary Kay Andrews. It's an easy read and I'm loving it so far!

Isabella's favorite book at the moment is Pinkalicious...she can't get enough of it!

Love your blog!

How great for the entire family to take part in going! I love it! I am reading a book I am reviewing right now and I can't wait to finish it! Hope you are having a super Sunday!

Thank you for visiting my blog!

I love going to the bookstore, but lately, I've been visiting the library instead - so save money.

I am currently reading "Writing Down the Bones - Freeing the Writer Within", by Natalie Goldberg. There are great exercises and ideas, and it motivates me to write everyday. I have a goal to have a memoir book written within a year.

Prior to this book, I read, "When I was Puerto Rican", by Esmeralda Santiago. This is a memoir and I really enjoyed reading about her childhood.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. Hope to hear from you again. Enjoy your Sunday!

Oh wow, what a great day. And some really awesome shots to go with it. Wondering if you are reading my sisters keeper. Man am I so glad I hadn't started that book yet.

I am reading "New Moon" and am better than halfway finished. I too love libraries... and yarn stores.... and fabric stores. They are all peaceful places to be.

Oh, and I'm headed to OC, NJ with my sister today. Just the girls hanging out for a 2 days while the family struggles without me....

Take care. Have a great Sunday.

Books! Yay. Librarians love that. :)

I used to HAVE to finish a book once I started it- even if I didn't like it. Then one day I just decided life was to short and there were too many other books that I wanted to read. Now I go to the library and get a huge stack. I give every book a few chapters but if it's not "working" for me then I move on to the next one. Works so better for me. Right now I'm reading The Photograph by Virginia Ellis (don't know if I'd recommend it but it's been a good book for me while I'm battling a cold)

I love that your dad was lost in his book on cars. :-)

I love used book stores because it's kind of all jumbly like that and there are treasures to be found on those shelves. (Plus it's cheaper)

Your dad wanted a tractor book, lol

It's so much fun to open a new book not knowing where you'll be transported.

I just started one called The Jade Cat. It's not grabbing me yet but I've only read a chapter so far. It's a big long one so I hope it gets going soon.

Love the quotes....

I'm in between books and desperately looking for another great read. If you should hear of one, let me know. And.....Should I stumble across something fabulous, I'll be sure to tell you. :-)

Hope your weekend has been beautiful

Your Sunday is better than mine. I'm helping my boyfriend clean up his car so we can put it up for sale. It's HOTTTT here too!

I'm reading a book called Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati. It's my second time and I'm about 1/4 the way through... it's a fantastic book, though, realistic fiction at it's best.

Great shots today, I love the way bookstores feel, and smell! (especially when they have coffee shops in them)

These are terrific. Well done! I did not finish the last two books I picked up: The Shack (sorry!) and Under the Overpass (non-fiction). Now, I'm reading Rage Against the Meshugana (sp?) and loving it!

Are you ready to hear about my current exciting reads? Here goes: Multicultural Education: Issues and Perspectives, Self-theories: Their Role in Motivation, Personality, and Development AND Psychology Applied to Teaching. I was REALLY hard to pull myself away from those to come read your blog. (Okay, not really.)

We used to spend tons of time in book stores. My dad would start "perusing" and the time warp would take over. I love books, so I didn't mind.

Love it honey! And, I think I know a little man who may just be in love with cars and tractors as much as your daddy! We are big readers in our house! Chase and I always get each other a Barnes and Noble gift card every year in our stockings. Don't tell him but it's always my favorite gift. It leads me to a place that can always be an adventure!

My wife was unusually disappointed by a Jodi Picoult book she read recently, too. I wonder if it's the same one?

I'm currently reading the Outlander series. I LOVE books and I LOVE the library. That is mine and Isaiah's favorite Saturday hangout. I love the smell, the quietness, the emense knowledge that surrounds me while I'm there...all tucked away neatly in the pages of a book. With books, possibilities and dreams are endless, imaginations run wild (or at least mine does), and I get a chance to escape reality.

I love that quote you put in this post...Medicine for the soul. That's good.
