Kissy Faces

Oh, do I have a great K today!

K is for Kiss!

And I have a super question!

kiss

When I was little,

I noticed that one of my friends had a mom

who kissed her kid on the lips.

I asked my Mommy to kiss me on the lips,

and I think she wanted to wash my mouth out with soap instead!

She told me that we would not ever do that!

Needless to say, we never became lip kissers!

I don’t kiss Kaish on the lips.

Are you and your kids lip kissers or cheek kissers?

Come on, this is IMPORTANT stuff!

And I will end this post with a picture

that absolutely melts my heart!

Little Sofia and her cheeks.

This kid is SO kissable!

Let’s call it

Kaleidoscope of Colorkalaedescope of color

Go visit ABC Wednesday and Wordful Wednesday

if you get a chance!

Make some new kissing friends…

or just regular blog friends.

Either/ Or : )

than wisdom.

I hope your day is filled with

LOTS and LOTS of kisses!

Definitely cheek kissers, although I've known many parents who kiss on the lips.

Yes, cheek kissers here, too. What an adorable little girl -- she would definitely get lots of hugs and cheek kissing here. Fun post for the day!

Enjoy!

Cheek kissers here too for the most part! Every now and then Little T will give me a lip smooch but believe me it is not very often.

I might be one of the weird ones but I am both. I give kisses on the lips at night before bed and throughout the day / or in public always on the cheeks. I sure some people might think it is weird, but my family has always been lip kissers.... Cute pics for sure!

I am not a kissy on the lips kind of gal either! I don't know why... I never thought about it... but I am not. My daughter kisses me on the lips sometimes but she is still a baby... but my boys... well I figured they can get their practice from the cute school girls! :D

I think when by boys were babies I kissed their sweet lips just to inhale that wonderful baby breath but when I think about it 99% of the time its kisses on the lovable cheeks. What an adorable picture of those kissable cheeks.

We mostly do cheek kissing but on occasions do lip kissing. I have noticed that young children seem to gravitate towards lip kissing until they are steered towards cheeks by adults.

When the girls were little I did kiss on the mouth, but as they got older I felt it more appropiate to kiss on the cheeks.
But you know what this reminded me of? Did you ever watch "Friends"? If so, do you remember the episode where Ross is at a cousins wedding and his aunt is always kissing him on the lips? LOL! Definitely cheek kissers! :)

Trudy said...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be a cheek kisser...for sure when they get older. The lips thing is just a little weird.

Jenni Jiggety said...

I am a lip kisser...and what is funny is that I thought everyone was! LOL!

Tabitha@ichoosebliss.net said...

We actually do both. As my daughter gets older she gravitates more to the cheek though.

Love the cheeks picture. I think I am a lip kisser. I suppose occasionally I do the cheeks, too, but mostly lips. It probably will change when they are older. *sigh*

Cheeks for my granddaughter but, I think before they got too old, I kissed my kids on the lips. I don't really remember; I guess it was no big deal. The kisses were the important part, not where they landed.

Great picture! She's adorable!

Cheek kissers here, but not air kisses, real ones. Sometimes both cheeks around our beloved Italian friends. Wonderful photo!

WOW...I'm actually surprised by all the answers. I'm actually a lip kisser! Nothing wierd about giving your baby loves.

Lip kisser here - I come from a large Catholic family of lip kissers!! However, as Kaeden gets older I'm sure he will want cheek kisses!! (I'm with the previous comment - I thought every family was lip kissers!)

Beautiful boy and beautiful blog!!!
Me & my boy are lips kissers. But he's only 14 months.

But when I was younger the lip kiss thing was never what we really did in my family.

I wish my family would have been lip kissers. MAN! I asked Gary after I read Jenni Jiggity's comment and also Gretchen's (who just happens to be one of my very real life friend o rama's) and he said his mom and dad were cheek kissers too.

Either way : ) as long as they are loved, I think it is super that we are kissing and hugging and loving our babies!

Tomorrow night I will add everything up and see what the consensus is : ) This will be a VERY SCIENTIFIC poll! So you will definitely want to stay tuned for results.... : )

We are both. But lean more towards cheek...Stunt Man is all about the lips, but the girls we do cheeks. He will grow out of the lip phase I am sure. In the winter we are total cheek because of the flu. LOL Gotta stay healthy. Love from a distance. :)

Becky said I have to leave a foment for her poll. My mom and dad kissed me and my sister on the cheek. I am going to write someday about what it is like to live with Becky. Right now she is trying to grab the phone from me. Goodnight from Gary.

The Sophie picture is spectacular! I absolutely adore it, love it, completely am taken with it!
I usually kiss my kids on the cheeks, but occasionally on the lips. I kissed my parents on the lips when I was real little, but eventually they started turning their heads.

I do however, kiss my friends's husbands square on the lips. (winky winky)

Lip kissers! I didnt know we were the minority.

Now that I think about it though, my fam growing up were cheek kissers... hmm... Im glad ryder and i are lip kissers :D

What an interesting question! I never thought about cheek kissing vs. lip kissing. My mom and dad always kissed us on the lips. I kiss my 13 year old on the cheek, but my 10 year old always kisses me square on the lips! Anyway you slice it, a kiss is a good thing! Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving all that comment love!

Cheek kissing is my fave - and those cheeks look just right for kissing!

Kiss is a great K and Sofia definitely has kissable little cheeks. I'm into cheek kisses with the kids, and that's what my mom did, too.

Marketing Mama said...

Yes, we were lip kissers - however, now that I'm an adult, I only let my mom kiss me on the cheek.

I kiss my kids on the lips and the cheeks. They always want to kiss me on the lips.

My husband feels a little weird with lip-kissing - they didn't do that in his house growing up, so he kisses the kids on the cheeks.

When my boy is a teenager, I will be sure to only kiss him on the cheek. I certainly want him to have healthy boundaries and not feel weird about kissing his mom! :)

Leslie: said...

Oh my God! Look at those EYELASHES! She IS adorable. And I kiss on the cheek - always!

smiles4u said...

I've never really thought about it...but after thinking about it...I do both. I know some people are uncomfortable with kissing and hugging but I am not. I didn't get much of this when I was growing up but seen friends who did. So when I had kids of my own I became more this way. Now, my family is very affectionate which I think is wonderful.

My daughter married a man from Chili. Many of his family came for the wedding. Every one of them kissed each person they greeted. They kiss everyone. I know it is custom for some countries to do this and I think it's great.

I think every mama in the world has gotten one of those open-mouthed soggy, sometimes gooey lip kisses from a baby.

This Auntie has :)

As for my family, we're not kissers at all. In fact, we're not even TOUCHERS! The most I ever touched my parents after about age 7, when I stopped holding their hands, was when they found out I was moving to the other side of the country. Until then, I got maybe a hug a month if I was lucky, which made the idea of kissing a boy way back when even scarier, lol. I can't imagine getting hugged and kissed every day by a parent...

what an amazing picture of the little one! Cheeks made for mommy and daddy's kisses :)

We are cheek kissers - sometimes on the lips too - always in 3 for "I Love You". Mine are teenagers, and when they leave the house, even if their friends are here, I get a hug and 3 kisses. :) LOVE IT!

Oh, I just LOVE that second picture! Great composition, and I love the way you edited, too. I am still discovering a signature way to edit my photos, but have to come to a conclusion that there is just no way. There are way too many ways to do it, and each time I find something I like (like yours), I will try and recreate. That goes my day..

Anyway, thanks for sharing!

we are both - although now that my son is getting a bit older - I don't want to kiss on the lips - but he still does - and I don't want to change this b/c it is me that has the slight issue - I want him to retain his innocence! But on another note - my husband's parents ALWAYS want to kiss me on the lips - IT IS SO SICK TO ME! I hate it - I always try to turn my head and his father will follow my lead

I give pecks to my kiddo on the lips and cheeks. Big D does not. He thinks it is inappropriate. It's hard to tell lil' D that it's not appropriate when he sees us kissing each other on the lips or his grandparents kissing each other. When he is older and understands, we will stick to cheek kisses. We just make sure he doesn't kiss or hug friends. He gives a fist pump to the boys and just says "bye" to the girls. We have learned all this from watching other parents. Happy WW and take care.

We don't kiss on the lips in our family. But we do cheek kiss and hug often. I'm surprised at the amount of people that think even that is unacceptable. People are even surprised when we say I love you to each other before hanging up the phone or leaving to go somewhere. Maybe that's what the world needs, more affection and care for each other.

Beautiful Photos!! We were Lip Kissers as kids now we are cheek kissers. I have a very close family and we are all about hugs and kisses. My husbands family...they do the awkward side hug thing..it's weird! I have two dogs and they give me huge kisses that cover my entire face!!

Alicia said...

I lip kiss (until a certain age). Not that I think it's "weird", but if I kiss my 13 year old son on the lips, it'll feel like I'm kissing another "guy!" LOLOLOL! He's like taller than me now! ha!!

My 9 year old I'll still kiss on the lips, as well as my other son, and youngest daughter! My tween daughter will only kiss on the cheek!! Haha!

But, I think all kids/familes are different. It's whatever is comfortable, right?

Jay said...

Fun question!

When my boys were very young, we lip-kissed sometimes. Not often, but sometimes. Once they were older, it didn't seem right, and now they're grown, definitely not!

It used to be always on the lips...and then when my daughter was on chemo for 2 1/2 years we had to be very careful due to her compromised immune system...that was sad...so we became cheek and forehead kissers...now it is both :)

Funny - we call lip-kissing "Husband Kissing". Of course I was NOT when I met my husband, but all of his family WERE! I was quietly horrified when my mother and father in law to be tried that lip-kissing greeting --- after I came into the family, of course. I learned to turn my cheek out at the last second. Rude, wasn't it!?
