Deep Thoughts

i love faces  I Heart Faces

Contemplative theme:comtemplation 2

A day spent without

the sight or sound of beauty,

the contemplation of mystery,

or the search of truth or perfection

is a poverty-stricken day;

and a succession of such days

is fatal to human life.

Lewis Mumford

What have you been thinking about lately?

I am thinking about Kaish growing up.

And if I am honest,

I don’t love it all that much…

Special Thanks to my sweet blogging friend

Grandma J

for helping me pick out my pictures.

Do you know her?

You should go meet her.

She is a DELIGHT!

Once again that boy brings a smile to my face. This photo is fabulous. I can see how your photography has grown from the beginning of I Heart Faces to now. Amazing job and of course I always love when Kaishon is your subject.

Perfect. Love it. He looks like quite a deep thinker!!

It is hard to accept it when our beautiful baby boys grow up, but this is the time when you have to love them all the more - he needs you to be the foundation of his adulthood.

Its a challenge, but you're a good mom and he is a good guy. Give him all the love and the trust you can.

Hmm...a penny for his thoughts? Awesome picture...you NEVER disappoint! Take my word for it, when Kaishon enters high school, the years will fly by at warp speed!

I love this photo too, and of course love that Grandma J.

What have I been thinking about lately? Life can be so unfair...and getting old is not fun.

ymK said...

I LOVE how your kid cooperates with you on the photography sessions. I have heard that boys especially tend to run away from the camera, but he is such a good boy.

Mental P Mama said...

Adorable! And I know Grandma J in person!!! She is a doll!

Melinda said...

Holy cow!! I can't wait until my kids are old enough to cooperate with having their pics taken (although like you, I hate the thought of them growing up); then maybe I could get cool photos like this one. I LOVE IT!!! Tell K he is the coolest!!

BTW - I totally think we need to have a quote swapping shin-dig. I always love your quotes!!

Nori D said...

How cute! And can I add that I love that chest he's sitting on!!

Life with Kaishon said...

I don't usually comment in the comments but I have to tell ymK and anyone else that wants to know that getting Kaishon to model lately has been a NIGHTMARE! I had to beg and beg after church on Sunday and then he gave me only 7 pictures. 7. can you believe that? Me either. So basically, don't be too excited about them getting bigger and modeling because it actually has been a bit nightmarish : ) Toodles!

Thank you for the nice comments! You have a wonderful entry every time yourself!! Great shot this little big thinker ;-) Unfortunately I am not coming to Texas... ;-( A flight of 24 hours is a bit too much, can't leave my kids for so long during a school week.... Would have loved to meet you and the others!!

Awesome prop with that trunk! Such personality!

What a personality this boy has! I love it!

Beautiful photo and such a great quote.

The growing up hurts me a bit too, especially how it seems to sneak up on a mom. Curling up with my almost three year old today, I was struck by how long his limbs seemed and how little he resembled a baby anymore...sigh.

Thanks for stopping by today, btw. :)

This is really a cute photo. There are so many things even outside of Kaish which make it special. The paint scuffs on the fence, the twisted vines, the aging wood, the variegated greens of the plants...ok, that's enough. I just love it.

Elizabeth said...

Great shot...I love it!
