Sundays in Our Town

cherry top with pop 3 This is my Daddy’s favorite Restaurant.

It’s called the Cherry Top.

It is a total ‘greasy spoon’ kind of joint.

cherry top with pop My Daddy grew up in this town.

Pipersville, Pa.

It is a farming community.

cherry top with pop 1 Or it used to be anyway.

Everyone enjoyed some ice cream snacks at

We have a place just like this except it's called the Tip Top. I just took my little lady there after we had a girls day of garage saling...it's the best! Our favorite is a twist!

Love these happy pictures!

Great pictures, Becky! A ninety cent cone? That's unheard of anymore! My favorite? Plain old vanilla. :)

The photos are fantastic! I love the ladies and gents signs. I prefer swirl because I can never make up my mind.

a soft serve vanilla cone for a warm summer night is great fun. I remember a place in my hometown that dipped the cone in different flavored coatings that quickly harden. It got sorta messy because the coating made the ice cream melt quicker.
good story with the pics.

Sorry that I've been such a bad blogging friend. Sometimes when I comment from work something crazy happens and a million web pages start opening. But it seemed to work ok this time! YAY! Kaishon is getting so tall! He's grown so much this summer. Tell him I said hi!

These are Seriously Superior Snaps! Thanks so much for sharing. I have one question: Why do you suppose they call a restaurant like the Cherry Top a "greasy spoon"? I've always wondered that!

Melinda said...

Mmmmmm - I love little hole in the wall greasy spoons (my thighs however do not) : )

Yum, Yum oh how I love ice cream. I am a twist kind of girl, you get the best of both worlds.

Twist.. better yet a dipped cone. There was a Twistee Treat near us in FL that had many many flavors of soft ice cream.. my favorite there was pina colada and Tara's was German Chocolate. There is supposed to be one in Collegeville that I am going to search out one day soon! Twistee Treat
Okay, so where can I get a soft ice cream cone at 2:10am?

Becca said...

oh twist for sure :-) I'm totally the most indecisive person ever so it satisfies me without making me choose between chocolate and vanilla!

Kristen@nosmallthing said...

I love towns like that. And .90 for a cone? Seriously? I'd be there like every day. ;)

My dad grew up in Ridgeway PA. Every heard of it?
