Red, White and Blue

Nothing is more difficult,
and therefore more precious,
than to be able to decide.
~Napoleon Bonaparte

Those who deny
freedom to others
deserve it not
for themselves.
~Abraham Lincoln

We on this continent should never forget
that men first crossed the Atlantic
not to find soil for their ploughs
but to secure liberty for their souls.
~Robert J. McCracken

There are two freedoms -
the false, where a man
is free to do what he likes;
the true, where he
is free to do what he ought.
~Charles Kingsley

Liberty is always dangerous,
but it is the safest thing we have.
~Harry Emerson Fosdick

We have enjoyed so much freedom
for so long
that we are perhaps
in danger of forgetting
how much blood it cost
to establish the Bill of Rights.
~Felix Frankfurter

It's Patriotic Story Week at I Heart Faces.
I don't know where to start.
Kaish learned the Pledge of Allegiance
when he was just 2.
We love our country.
We try to be thankful for our freedom daily.
We pray for the men and women who serve
in the military during supper each night.

God bless America.

What was your favorite thing

Another great post, with beautiful pictures. I pray for our troops daily too, and also the people who will never know what freedom is. We take it for granted in this country, and we shouldn't.

Love you guys a whole bunch.

Such great pictures, quotes and thoughts. My most favorite thing was taking my little people to a baseball game along with other family members and just all being together...and then listening to a young women that is in one of the armed forces sing the National Anthem, which always gives me the goose bumps and makes me cry.

My favorite thing about the fourth was spending it with my family and watching a fireworks display at a local college. It was beautiful and the finale was the best we have ever seen! Kaeden loved every minute of it too!

Great photos and quotes. This year we had a party, complete with a "Sparkler Conga." Perhaps we've started a new tradition.
