730 days

gary and kaish

before we got married,

I could have told you exactly how to have

the perfect marriage.

I would have said things like

‘Never go to bed angry,

be kind all the time,

encourage and uplift….’

well, you know, all the things

that probably come to your mind

when you think of marriage.

I was sure,

that if anyone could have complete bliss

in a marriage it was Gary and me.

I mean, how hard could it be?

And now, 2 years later,

I have no idea how to have

a perfect marriage.

Our marriage is many things

and perfect is not one of them.

It is really hard.

Extraordinarily hard some days.

There are many moments that make me want to scream

and many moments that make me smile.

It’s been an exquisite  journey.

I am  glad I get to be his wife.

I love our marriage

with it’s Ups and Downs

(although truth be told,

I could do with a few less Downs this year)

Our love has changed and grown

over the past 730 days

and I am thankful

we embarked on this journey.

I love you Gary.

2 years down- Many more to go!

"My heart is ever at your service." Shakespeare

What anniversary are you celebrating this year?

Happy Anniversary!!! What a wonderful and very true post.... Lots of ups and downs and sometimes hard to not go to bed angry. We are coming up on 20 years on November 11. There are some days that just his breathing can set me off, but bottom line is I know there is no one else on this earth that I'd rather be married to.

Enjoy your day! Are you going out for dinner???

Happy Anniversary!! Now, there is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Mike and I celebrated 40 years of marriage this past January.

Thanks so much for your sweet words on my grandma-ing. I am blessed to know you. You are so uplifting. I know Gary feels blessed too. Take care and enjoy the day.

Hi!:) Thanks for popping over to my blog :D I like the 'big-photo' layout too :D Do you know how to increase the size of your photos in each post? Read HERE if you don't;

http://iheartfaces.blogspot.com/2008/01/enlarging-your-photos-tutorial-by-karyn.html

It's really simple. I've since worked out that the optional sizes are s320/480/640/720/800 - HTH :D
And Yes, I do use live writer sometimes on my laptop and no, I haven't had spacing issues. I particularly used it when we were off-line for a month during our move and then spent a day loading all the posts up ;-) I really like the program, but can't get it to work on my PC which is a bit old now and won't let me have any of the 'live' programs except messenger!
Happy Anniversary BTW :D
We will be celebrating 14 years in September (one child for every 2 years of marriage) and I LOVE my man to bits. I look forward to growing old with him :D I think our marriage is probably harder work for him than me!!

This is such a perfect description of true marriage...it is full of ups and plenty of downs too. It's the commitment that makes a difference and you definitely have that. Congrats on celebrating your anniversary!!

Happy anniversary! This is a wonderful post and so true. If a person views marriage in terms of fairy-tale, happily-ever-after, I think they are bound to be disappointed when those hard times come up (as they inevitably do). I hope you did something fun to celebrate the big day!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Happy anniversary!

It is funny when we think we know the answers of everything and then we find out we know nothing at all. Praise God He is our guide and one we can always look for for answers.

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Anniversary!
I hope your marriage lasts until the very end.
No relationship is easy and someone who tells you the opposite, just lies.

I have no anniversary's going on around here this year!

Happy Anniversary Rebekah! My husband and I are in our 2nd year of marriage right now after celebrating #1 back in May. It is tough for sure, but I would not have it any other way. The thing that keeps it good, above all else, is the fact that Jesus is our center! I pray that the coming year brings you more ups than downs and that you learn much in the valleys! God bless you both in your lives and in your marriage. I pray you have many happy years ahead of you!

Happy Anniversary, Rebeckah!!! You have such a beautiful family. Love the photo of your hubby and son. My husband and I are celebrating our 12th anniversary next month. I'm just a bit sad celebrating it without him here. However, I am happy to say we're still in love after so many years. My heart still skips a beat when I see him or hear his voice. He is truly my soulmate.

And yes, it's common to have ups and downs... besides, what's a marriage without those, right? :)
