Our venture & a Worthwhile Cause

On Saturday,
My Daddy called with a plan.
A plan to go to a great big hunting and fishing store.
Only thing was-
We don't hunt.
Or fish.
EVER.
My Dad thought it would be a good time though.
So, we got in the VAN and ventured to:

Have you ever heard of it before?
It was interesting.

We saw many unique animals.
Mostly stuffed.

We tried on 'coon skin caps.
(My Mom wanted to buy one,
but, thankfully, I talked her out of it...)

Kaish was fascinated.
He couldn't get enough.

Animals enchant him!

See what I mean?
Some things were living!
Kaish didn't want to leave.
Ever.
I forced him
after 2 and a half hours.
We did not buy this turkey.
Kaish LOVED the tail!
Who wouldn't love a tail like that?
We would have bought this hat-
but we got it for free.
We had lunch at Cracker Barrel.
(Very healthy? Yeah right!)
Kaish won.

Kaish curled up in his blanket and fell asleep
on the way home.
He dreamed of moose.
Fun dreams : )

Have you ever been?
They are all over.
If one is near you
and your kid likes animals,
I would highly recommend it.
ABC Wednesday is right here.
And Wordful Wednesday is right here.
Happy clicking!
Oh, and one last thing!
While you are clicking,
could you please click over to the
Don't you wish this was W week with all those W's?
Hallie Twomey is having a fundraiser raffle.
6 years ato Hallie's Dad received a new heart.
That is beautiful.
I am going to enter.
The prizes sound great.
But even better than the nice prizes...
you have a chance
to make a difference in the world.
We all need to do that.
Every. Single. Day.
Make a difference : ).

I love how your dad decided it was time to go....and what fun! It was so cute, my boys were looking over my shoulder while I was reading this post...one said, "hey, he kind of looks like me" ;)

It looks like he had a great time! Fun time with grandma and grandpa.

And I hear about Cracker Barrel all the time but we don't have those here. What kind of food is it? Just crackers? In a barrel?

Cabela's is great fun...I'm glad you had a chance to go and it definitely does look like Kaish was in his element!

I am going to hop over to the fundraiser, that is the second time I've seen it today! Thanks for sharing it!

I love Cracker Barrel...but not their imfamous breakfast.

The closest Caberas is about 75 miles away. Maybe I'll take the grandsons from CO when they come.
Kaishon needs that coonskin cap!

We don't have Cabela's but we have their competitor - (the name escapes me) - judging by the photos they are very similar. My kids LOVE it in there (even though we don't hunt or fish). It's a neat place.

And I LOVE Cracker Barrel. "More hash brown casserole, please!" The only catch with Cracker Barrel is you have to have time for a NAP after eating there.... all those carbs will throw you down for at least an hour and a half nap afterwards!

It came to me - "Bass Pro Shop" is the name of the store we have - it's a MAMMOTH hunting and fishing mega-store...

I went to Cabelas in Missouri. What a fascinating place. Took lots of pictures and bought a few shirts for hubby. Your Venture was exciting.

The great thing about grandparents is that they take our kids to places that we normally wouldn't take them!

I love that Kaishon still has that childlike awe and wonder, something that I wish my teenager still had!

I have never heard of this store. We have Bass Pro Shop here which kind of reminds me of the same thing. It looks like Kaishon really enjoyed himself!

OMGosh... I LOVE Cracker Barrel! Their chicken & dumplings are my favorite!

My brother in law used to work at that store in the gun department. Crazy place.

Hey, we were almost neighbors - I grew up in Phoenixville.

It sounds like a great day out. I think animals are so important and the earlier people learn to appreciate them, the better. They become better people I feel.

I have been and have never thought of taking my little one but I bet your right that he would love it!

I've never been to Cabela's, but I've heard quite a bit about it. I'm not much of an outdoorsy girl, so it probably wouldn't thrill me much. It would thrill my kiddos, though. :)

(Jason's comment cracks me up...crackers in a barrel. It does sound like that is what would be served. :)

Cabela's is cool!! Outdoor Bass and Pro Shop is very similar. I could spend hours there. We don't have one near where I am at, but I need to go out of my way to take my kids. Great idea for a road trip.

thanks for stopping by my blog and best wishes to you and K!!

Cabella's is where Mom and Dad pick up the most 'unique' gifts for our family.

We don't hunt or fish, either, but at Christmas time you may now be able to tell! *wink*
