Rita's Water Ice

Rita's Water Ice
It's how we chill during the hot days
of Spring and Summer.
Do you have one near you?
Do you like water ice?
What is your favorite summer time treat?
ABC Wednesday is here.
Wordful Wednesday is here.

P.S. My models are getting sick of pictures.
Who knew 9 year olds would be so hard to work with?

CrAzY!

i don't have a Rita's but they do sell limbers (spanish word for icee) that are really good. Reminds me of Puerto Rico =) As for 9 yr olds and pictures, I can relate! Mine run when they see the camera now!!!

I've never even heard of water ice! What exactly is it? I'm very curious now! Around here, the big treat is going to Mayfield Dairy Farms for an ice cream cone...it's the BEST!

spacedlaw said...

Here is Rome it is called "grattacheccha" (because the ice is grated - or rather shaved - before adding the flavouring), whereas in Italy it is usually called "granita".

In the northeast (mostly eastern CT and RI), it is Dell's Lemonade. The best frozen concoction I have ever had!

I, myself, am on a constant search of coconut chocolate chip ice cream.

If water ice and snow cones are the same thing, then yes I have had them and love them. If they're not the same thing, then you are going to have to fill us in on what water ice is.

Is water ice like a snow cone or a slush?
Anything icy and wet on a hot day is perfect. Great choice for R.

I have never heard of water ice. Is it like snow cones? I love those. I love anything sweet and cool. I saw that you read Water for Elephants. That is an interesting read. I heard it on audio. The guy's voice kinda bugged me. Wish I had read the book instead. Hope you and the family are well

I'll tell you what - we are obsessed with Rita's :-) sometimes when we leave they say 'see you tomorrow!' :-)

I've never had water ice. Is it like a snow cone? My boys get tired of me taking pictures too!

Lovely on a summer's day, looking forward to those. I think its what called slush here.
Thanks for you kind comments over on my R.

Live.Love.Eat said...

Is that like a slushy? Or an Italian Ice? Looks good whatever you call it.

drewmark19 said...

I don't know what water ice is, but I'm betting it's like a slushie. If so, I LOVE them and so do my boys. We have our own icie maker with tons of different flavored syrup. I'd estimate they have one almost every day. Not healthy...but, hey! They're happy! ☺ ☺ ☺

I tried Rita's ice for the first time when I went to Oceancity, MD. I don't have any near by. Shaved ice and fresh fruit are my favorite summer treats
