Birthday Craziness

made this week
Birthday Week.
This is a good time for Birthday week.
Doesn't EVERYONE you know
have a Birthday in May?
It's crazy : ).

Crazy, I tell you.

I actually made Kaishon
and my sweet little nephew Ben
put on Birthday hats
and pretend to blow out candles : )
But in the end, I decided,
to go ahead and go with one of my
favorite Birthday shots
of Kaish and Sabria from January.

It's not technically a good picture.
But, I think that is the greatest thing
about it.
Everything doesn't have to be
technically PERFECT
in order to be beautiful!

Don't ever think your pictures
aren't perfect just because other people
don't always love them.
If you love them,
well, then,
that really is the most important thing : ).

What is your busiest Birthday month of the year?

Our Personal Key to Happiness

Get ready to be blown away by this wisdom!
Our personal key to happiness is
fighting EVERY day.

Just look at this face
Nothing says happiness
like a wrestling scream...

Do you do a lot of wrestling at your house?
I highly recommend it!

Bikini Bodies!

How much does focusing on weight
affect your daily life?
When I was born
The Dr. told my Mom
I would probably never be able to wear a bikini.
My Mom was delighted!
(She is VERY conservative
And just doesn’t think girls
should EVER wear bikinis)
The Dr. didn’t say I would
never be able to wear a bikini
because he could tell that
I was going to grow up horribly round-
But rather because of a birth mark
on my back and side.
I have never worn a bikini.
I probably never will.
But I assure you the birthmark
would be the LEAST of my worries.
Me in a bikini would be frightening-
On so many levels…
But, this brings me to the point of this post!
Did you know I actually had points in my posts?
Any who, the thing I can NOT stand
Is Mommys who don’t take their kids to the pool
Because of how they look.
I don’t care if you are Hot, Hot, Hot!
Or if you are Round as a Beach Ball.
No one cares about how you look in a suit.
No one.
So stop being a creep-a-zoid and go to the pool.
Your kid will love it.
Go get a cover up.
Go get a tan.
Go get a diet.
Just do something and take your kid to the pool.
This is my public service announcement for the week.
Kaish and I have a little friend
With one of Those mothers.
I think the reason I am a little annoyed about this
And thinking about it EVERY DAY
Is because the mother weighs about 110 pounds.
Or less.
Girls like that-
Women like that-
Make me ill.

Mama Kat has some great prompts this week!
You should join!
How do you feel about Moms like that?
Do you know anyone like that?
Please, oh please, promise me
You are NOT a Mom like that!

Sophia's Baby Naming Ceremony

My very favorite teeny, tiny baby:

Isn't she lovely?
David's Mom is a wonderful Grandma!
Sophia will grow up well loved and adored.

Kaishon loved her of course!
Who wouldn't love this sweet baby?
She is absolutely delicious!

I love her parents.
Tina's Dad cherishes his new grandaughter!

Could she be any more beautiful?

My question today
on ABC Wednesday is:
What is your favorite gift
to give new babies?
A bear? A bond? A bug?
Go check out the other S's today.
Wordful Wednesday is here.

Sillo WHAT? Picture taking adventures!

You know how much I adore I heart faces, right?
I mean, seriously, I can't get enough!
I was VERY leery about this weeks theme:
Sill-o-wetts? WHAT?
I was SO thankful for this great tutorial!
Even if you aren't an I heart faces fan...
even if taking pictures isn't your favorite thing...
go check this out!
Because someday, you might want to take one!
It was a great tutorial and it is pretty easy!
This is my brother Johnny
and his Oh-So-Sweet wife, Joanna.
They were the nicest models for me.
I love their faces!

If you are in the mood to see some great sites
besides I Heart Faces,
go check out my friend Drew's blog.
She encourages me to try photoshop.
I did try photoshop with this picture.
I don't know if it worked or not.
Also check out Susan Keller's blog.
She is the one that did that tutorial!

Happy picture taking this week!

Simple Summer Recipe from the BEST cook on earth! For real!

OK, Just kidding!
This isn't from the best cook on Earth-
It's from me!

I don't think I even need to use words
Just look at the pictures.

Isn't this easy?

You know if I can put it together-
it has to be EASY!

Did you make a nice summery treat for your
Memorial Day get together?
Do tell! : )

A play to render you speechless!

"Hey Mom?
Could you take us to the library?
We want to do a play."

"Do you think you could do it here?"
(so I don't have to leave the house
in my DIRTY yoga pants?)

"Oh no, we really need to do it the library!"

"Is it a quiet play?
Remember we have to be very quiet at the library!"
"Oh, it's quiet! We promise."

Ladies and Gentlemen!
I proudly present Kaishon and Jonathon's play.
A play SO brilliant
that it could only be executed at the library...

Wait, did you miss the story line?
Animals attacking other animals.
Very graphic.
Little thespians in the making.
I am SO glad I left the house for that.

A Soldier by Robert Frost

A Soldier
He is that fallen lance that lies as hurled,
That lies unlifted now,
come dew, come rust,
But still lies pointed as it plowed the dust.
If we who sight along it round the world,
See nothing worthy to have been its mark,
It is because like men we look too near,
Forgetting that as fitted to the sphere,
Our missiles always make too short an arc.
They fall, they rip the grass, they intersect
The curve of earth, and striking, break their own;
They make us cringe for metal-point on stone.
But this we know, the obstacle that checked
And tripped the body, shot the spirit on
Further than target ever showed or shone.
Robert Frost
It is so nice to have off on Memorial Day!
It is great to be with family and have a picnic!
It is a priveledge and an honor to celebrate the lives of soldiers.
I am so thankful for all they do for us.
Who will you be thinking of this Memorial Day?

Great prompts as always!

Rita's Water Ice

Rita's Water Ice
It's how we chill during the hot days
of Spring and Summer.
Do you have one near you?
Do you like water ice?
What is your favorite summer time treat?
ABC Wednesday is here.
Wordful Wednesday is here.

P.S. My models are getting sick of pictures.
Who knew 9 year olds would be so hard to work with?

The best book: Water for Elephants

Have you read this book?
You MUST read this book.
Unless you don't like books...
Is there any one in the world who doesn't like books?
Now, I know,
I know you are probably thinking
this book has been out
for a million years.
And it has.
I am always late.
It was so good though-
I simply had to say a little something.
A little something like
I could NOT put it down.
It gave me chills.
I was in awe.
It made me think and laugh and pray.
It was SO great.
If you haven't read it
I am positive you will LOVE it.
Unless you are my Mom.
(My Mom, who is SO splendid,
but does NOT like books with
any sex or violence.)
It does have those things.
But just a tiny bit.
And lets face it:
Real life has those things..
Now I need a new book,
since I read that in less than 24 hours.
What's the latest, greatest book
you can recommend?

My favorite picture of my favorite face!

I am submitting this photo into the Blurb book photo contest. If chosen, I grant I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites.
Little Boys
Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!
unknown author
Are you going to submit a picture this week?
I am definitely an amateur.
Go check out all the pretty pictures!
