C is for Children

"We worry about what a child will become tomorrow,
yet we forget that he is someone today."
~Stacia Tauscher"Children need love,
especially when they do not deserve it."
~Harold Hulbert
"Children are the living messages
we send to a time we will not see."
~John W. Whitehead, The Stealing of America, 1983
"If our American way of life fails the child,
it fails us all".
~Pearl S. Buck
"Every child comes with the message
that God is not yet discouraged of man."
~Rabindranath Tagore
"You are worried about seeing him
spend his early years in doing nothing.
What!
Is it nothing to be happy?
Nothing to skip, play,
and run around all day long?
Never in his life will he be so busy again."
~Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Emile, 1762

are great ways to blog.
I am thankful today for Children.
The children in my life are a great blessing.
I regularly get to hang out with these children:
Kaishon, Sabria, Naji,
Sienna, Mila, Sofia,
Katelyn, Ben and Levi.
How many children do you get to hang out with during a typical week?

You are a great mother, who loves and cares for all the children around you. I am ashamed to say, that I was today annoyed, because some naughty brats threw a snowball at my window, and then ran away. I didn't do anything but I am always afraid, that this big window will break. Well it didn't! So I must be grateful!

What a great post and oh.so.true. Children are such a blessing! How lucky you are to be able to hang out with these little ones on a regular basis. Your son is adorable!

I have my three littles every day which is always an adventure and we have our little buddies over regularly or meet them out to play. So much fun to watch the world through a child's eyes.

Thanks for coming by my blog and I hope you can participate in our effort!

Wat a touching post. I'm a retired teacher and I loved almost every minute of my teaching career. Now I get to hang out with my 3 year old niece Maria and my nephew, 5 year old Adam. What blessings.

Rebeckah,
I love your quotes and especially your wonderful pictures!!! There is nothing in the world more special in the world than a child and so many times we MAKE them grow up way to fast! We need to encourage them to dream, make goals and then to help them make their dreams/goals come true, no matter how wild their dreams and goals are!!! One of my childrens dreams/goals was to go to Australia. Never in a million years did I think that would happen, especially without me or my husband going. But, a very special highschool teacher took a group on a trip and they both got to go! God is good ~ All the Time! God wants us to DREAM BIG & PRAY BIG!!
Love you,
Yvette

Sweet pictures, and I love the quotes, especially the first and the last. I've always thought the idea that we should always be doing something is wrong. We all need time to just be, and for children, this almost always involves activity.

As usual, fantastic pictures and poignant quotes. You are surrounded by sweet faces. I see my four everyday, of course, but there are also those at Awanas and Campus Life and ballet. I'm glad you took the time to ABC. :-)

During a typical week, I hang out with my 3 GRANDbabies, about 100 or so church kids and 440 students at the school where I work. So I have an awesome opportunity to try and make an impace on their young lives, nothing is better or more rewarding!!!

I Love Your Blog!!! That was just beautiful, the exact way I feel about children. I have seven monkeys, wanted more, unfortunatly my dear sweet husband died from cancer.

All of those quotes, the sentiment behind them is what keep me from completly falling apart. My children need to continue in a happy stable home. Thank you so much.
