Busy Day; Magic Moment

"The power of Thought, the magic of the Mind!"
Lord Byron
You know those days?
RACE home from work: Check
Pick kid up from school: Check
Race to Physical Therapy: Check
Do excercises quickly: Check
Run back out to car because you have to
RACE home,
Make dinnner,
Do homework,
Clean the kitchen,
Go to another Doctor....
Well, our afternoon was sailing right along.
I picked Kaish up from school.
No nice loving words,
I was way too busy being ANNOYED at the slow car in front of me.
Don't they know we have a zillion things to do tonight?
Race to Physical Therapy,
Race inside, Race thru the exercises.
Race, Race, Race.
Physical therapy is over and I run to the car,
Start it up-
and that's when I notice.
NO Kaish.
Where the heck could this kid be?
Doesn't he know how busy today is?
Apparently not.
I found him sliding around on the ice-
Pretending to be a seal.
He is such a blessing.
I just can't believe that out of all the kids in the whole wide world
Jesus gave me the very best one.
"Love and magic have a great deal in common.
They enrich the soul, delight the heart. And they both take practice."
Nora Roberts

"Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Arthur C Clarke
"The universe is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper."
Eden Phillpotts

Do you have any tricks I can practice so this doesn't keep happening to me?

Oh my, they know how to keep us young, and they know what is important in life. You know, how to stop and smell the roses along the way, or more appropriately, stop and slide on the ice. :) Enjoy the rest of the day!!!

Hey, thanks for stopping by my site. I hope you will try my recipe. It really is good and very different. I am pulling for the Cardinals since they have never won and I tend to pull for the underdog, all though frankly-I don't particularly care! Blessings.

R~why do we do that? I know my Little T is so forgiving! We try to cram so much into our lives I wonder what we are really missing. If you find the answer let me know. I'll pray for us both!
Love U.

I fall into the same trap. Sometimes I get so busy that I forget to enjoy ANYTHING!! YOu always have a way of reminding me of what I should be doing!

Kids have the ability of teaching us the spiritual discipline of joy if we're willing to learn . . . a spiritual discipline, by the way, that is way underated! Unfortunately for adults, joy is usually a discipline - for children, it's a way of life.

That is so precious - I think kids are great at making us slow down and see what is really important!

Looks like you had ice just like us!!

Love the picture and the moral to this story! You are blessed and you know it...that is so important. I think we all get caught up with "life" and it's easy to take our eyes off our "prizes" in life...those people or blessings right in front of us.

Oh, yeah. Sliding on the ice - god, he looks so full of joy!!!!

What fun.

Take a breath. As parents we can get so wrapped up in the day-to-day that our children have to remind of what is important living life!

Thank you, sweet friend, for the reminder to slow down and smell the flowers along the way. Kaishon's smile is so infectious! Makes me want to run outside and slip and slide...of course, that would hurt BIG TIME, as we have no snow! Hmmm...maybe I should rethink that! LOL!

You really have been blessed with a very special boy who loves life...and YOU!♥

Glad you took a minute to soak in the moment. We tend to miss quite a bit in life in our hurry to get from one place to another. Children are a great reminder for us to slow down....take it in.
