My Mom

My Mom's Birthday was on Februrary 17th and I have been meaning to write about her ever since the day of her Birthday. I don't think she will ever read this blog as she is pretty much computer illiterate, but I still want to write about her for our own recollections...

There are so many great things to say about my Mom, I don't know where to start.

She is really beautiful. She has always been. Breathtakingly so. She has the prettiest hair and the prettiest green eyes you will ever see. She has classic beauty.

She is so kind. Not "kind-because-people-are-watching-kind" but Kind Kind! She would do anything to help someone. She has taught me so much about being kind and sweet. There could not be a sweeter person on this planet. She is so nice that the niceness just oozes out of her. Everyone who has ever met walks away saying, "Wow, she is so sweet!" It is something you just can't help but notice, especially in this day and age when there are so many NOT SWEET people roaming around!

My Mom loves Kaishon. She loves him like he is her very own. She delights in his smiles and his accomplishments. And he loves her so. Together, they are quite a team! I love knowing they have each other in this crazy world.

My Mom loves God. She is a very good example to all of her children. She spends time every day reading the Bible and praying. I remember when she started working again, after staying home with us for many years, she used to get up at 4:30 so she would have time to read her Bible and pray. What a wonderful example. We all look up to her and honor her.

I truly don't know what I would do without her. Every time I need help with Kaishon or paperwork or cleaning, my mom is there. She helps me even when it is hard for when she has to take Kaishon to basketball games and they get lost on the way to the game, AND on the way home from the game.

She is simply the sweetest, calmest, most sincere person you will ever meet. I am nothing like her, but I love her mightily. Happy Birthday Dear Sweet Mommy! God blessed me with the most amazing parents. I am so thankful each and every day for the parents God gave me. They are truly wonderful people. Magnificent, really.

Shorts on Presidents Day

We started our fun day off playing basketball in the driveway...much to the HORROR of our elderly neighbor lady (She really hates us. I used to think most old people were like my SWEET Grandmothers. Lately, I have been meeting a LOT of mean old people. I hope that Kaishon meets mostly kind elderly people because there really is something so sweet about niceness!)
Kaishon and Sienna on an old jungle gymn.
Mila Climbing!
Sienna getting ready to laugh. I think she is so adorable!
My buck tooth angel : )

Kaishon and I had off on Monday for Presidents Day. He was a little lonely in the afternoon so we picked up the COOLEST sisters in Souderton, Sienna and Mila Harley! We had a fun time at Care and Share Thrift Shop getting stuffed animals. (Jen was PARTICULARLY PLEASED with our stuffed animal purchases... ) We played outside at a the neighborhood playground until it started to rain and then we went to Burger King to play inside! It was a super fun day and Kaishon really loved wearing shorts in the winter. It was 69 degrees on Monday! Nice and Hot!

Levi, Levi, Levi...We want a baby!

Lately, Kaishon and I have REALLY been wanting a baby. Gary has NO interest in a baby at all... at this time. Kaishon and I are interested in any kind of baby. A baby from my tummy or a baby from adoption or even a baby from Kaishon's tummy...(He just told me to write that?!?!??!?!)! Any baby is a good baby as far as we are concerned.
We would be open to any kind of child, really. Kaishon gets so lonely. I think being an only child is SO hard. Sabria and Naji were going to spend Presidents Day weekend with us, but something unexpected came up, so we were alone. Here are some pictures of Baby Levi. We hope we have our own little baby soon!

Dinosaur Socks & Shrimp = Valentines Love

This is what we had for supper on Valentines Day. Crabcakes, Angel hair pasta with seafood and peppers and Garlic Shrimp. Oh yeah, AND we had vanilla milkshakes. Yummy. Lovey Dovey. Am I the best cook in America? No, Kaishon HATED the crabcakes. Gary HATED the milkshakes. Oh well, at least I tried. Feel the love!
Kaishon showing off his Valentines from school. He said he didn't get that many. His friend Kyle told him it is because he is too tough. Kaish said that his classmate Jake had the most Valentines of all the kids in his class. Kaishon was very happy about one special Valentine from a girl named Jennifer.... I can't wait to find out more about her.

Kaishon LOVED getting a microphone for Valentines Day! He sang some melodious love songs to me. He is a great singer. Definitely the cutest one I've seen in a long time!
Kaishon was not excited about the new Dinosaur socks that he got as a Valentines Day present...It was the first thing he got in the morning before going to school. He thought it was a VERY odd present. I tried to get him to wear red socks in honor of Valentines Day and he thought that was even more crazy. Oh well. I guess that is life with boys.

It is not how much we do, it's how much love we put into the doing. It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving."~Mother Theresa

My friend Jessica Heath and her new husband at her September Wedding. Isn't she pretty?

Happy Valentines Day. May your day be filled with much love and infinite joy...

A sleepover in the middle of the week?!?!?!?!?!?

Kaish had a sleepover at Grammy's and Pop Pop's last night. I had to go on a secret mission to...

Marsha Brown Creole Kitchen in New Hope, PA

Last night there was an ice storm in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery Counties...That did not stop me or my friend Will from going out to dinner at a fancy schmancy restaurant called Marsha Brown's. We had the most fabulous time. Our dinner was really amazing. (It should have been for $200.) We are going back again soon! The above pictures were NOT taken by me and were NOT taken during our visit last night. Last night, it was hard to see the beauty of the restaurant as everything was ICE covered...

Will and Bill Cosby

Another one of my very best friends on this planet is Will Coney. He is an amazing man who spends every day helping kids from Philadelphia make better life choices. I love his character and the things he stands for. Bill Cosby came to his school recently. How cool is that? I am so proud of Will. I only wish I could see him more!

How can you make a difference today?

Mandisa - God Speaking

God Speaking

Have you ever heard a love song
That set your spirit free
Have you ever watched a sunrise
And felt you could not breathe

What if it's Him
What if it's God speaking
Have you ever cried a tear that
You could not explain
Have you ever met a stranger
That already knew your name
What if it's Him
What if it's God speaking

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us
Get our attention to prove He is enough
He'll do and He'll use
Whatever He wants to
To tell us I love you

Have you ever lost a loved one
Who you thought should still be here
Do you know what it feels like
To be tangled up in fear
What if He's somehow involved
What if He's speaking through it all

His ways are higher
His ways are better
Though sometimes strange
What could be stranger
Than God in a manger

God is speaking
I love you

clean house

The bookshelf next to my bed, neatly arranged!
Gary's dresser. Do you believe he uses all the drawers? It's true. Whoever said girls have more clothes is wrong in our case. He never wears all of his clothes, but he has an OVERABUNDANCE of them....
Pretty black curtains with pretty carpet lines!
Sparkling clean bathroom.
Sparkling clean tub.
Kaishon's dresser. Books and CD's organized into a bin. Remote control car on display. WOW! Windex was even used...
Kaishon's sleeping pals perched upon his pillow. Normally, we have to crawl underneath the bed at bedtime because they somehow roam there during the day.
Our bed is so funky and cool, but it is hard to tell in the pictures because of all the black. What can I say, black rocks : ). Black people. Black furniture. Black blankets. Black, Black, Black!
The pillows actually arranged! Another rare occurance. If we can each find one at bedtime we are lucky!
TV that was cleaned. Aren't those suitcases cool in the tv stand thing? I got them at Ross! I LOVE them.

Look, you can actually see the countertop. Normally it is covered in Court papers, Kaishon's school work and frying pans. Gary hates that. I try to clean it up, but it barely ever happens. In fact, it might not be clean by the time he gets home from work, so I will let him look at this to remember what it is like : ).
More clean countertops and no dishes in the sink.
I think refrigerators are supposed to look like this. I actually can't STAND when people have empty ones.
More RARE carpet lines : )
A bed that is actually made....

Please notice the vacume lines on the stairs.... WOW!
Please DON'T notice the Christmas Tree angel that is on the entertainment center...
Pencils in a jar? WOW!
More CARPET LINES and Kaishon's WAY cool artwork on the mantel!
Ok, so the office area is still SUPER messy! Please don't notice it.

So, the house is clean. And since this is an EXTREMELY rare occurance I have to post pictures. I might even wander upstairs for some more. I can't believe this. It is a good feeling. Could it just stay like this forever?
