Madagascar 2

Kaish and I had a date on Saturday : )!
We went to see Madagascar 2.
He loved it.
I thought it was interesting.
I thought it was pushing an agenda a little.
I don't know how I feel about that agenda.
I know one thing for sure: I do NOT like paying $9 for a movie ticket.
There are LOTS of great movies coming out or out right now.
What movie are you hoping to see soon?

I didn't like the agenda in Happy Feet. Ugh. Or I didn't like what Wall-E either. What was the agenda in M2. Funny, I have seen all of these and don't even have children.. Yes, I seen them at the movies..lol.

The movies in our town cost 5.50
The movies about an hour away cost 8.00 Our concession stand is cheap too..

i feel the same way about the agendas. i want my kids to respect the Earth as God's creation, not as an idol. i feel like alot of kid's shows now are either pushing environmentalism or extreme tolerance. i usually try to turn those agendas around and tell them scripture. it's hard when it's everywhere! Btw, LOVE your blog. i came across it via someone who reads my blog. very nice :)

what a fun date with your son! I know ticket prices are horrible... they are a bit cheaper here, but I am not sure what movies are out here to even see!

I took my boys to see it Friday night. We all loved it. The youngest who is 3 stood in the isle when the movie was over and danced to I like to move it, move it. It was so cute to watch him.

I'm glad Kaishon and you got to have a movie date together. I haven't seen Madagascar, but thanks for the warning about the agenda. That's a major turnoff for me. I view it as a form of indoctrination and brainwashing our young children. My grandchildren were actually scared with the creepy scarey message in Happy Feet....the change to dark music was probably a big part of it.
I'm all for protecting the environment, but if you put an animated movie together that's full of fictional stuff like all the singing and dancing, the Mexican accent and cultural differences....that have nothing to do with penguins, then don't all of a sudden throw in scare tactics!
Whew, I'll get off my soapbox, and not even start on Wall-E.

I know they are so expensive. We only go once in a while or I take just the boys. Or in the summer they have specials once a week. What is the agenda in this one. We have Happy Feet we got it cheap at blockbuster or something. I'm not crazy about it at all. I hate the penguin thing knowing it is racist. Also the whole worship the creation not the creator bugs us big time. Glad you had fun!

I loathe paying that much too. I try to put it off until we can rent them and watch a few times over a weekend.
The new Jim Carrey "yes man" looks interesting. he cracks me up!!

We actually have a theater close to where we live and it cost $4.50 during the day and $6.00 at night.

I would like to take the girls to see High School Musical 3 that came out this month!

Glad you and Kaishon had a fun time together! You know, I'm just too cheap these days to pay upwards of $8.50 for a movie ticket. We, usually, just wait until they come out on DVD. The last movie I saw was "Fireproof", but I would kind of like to see "Secret Life of Bees" just because I read the book.

Have a super day, my friend!!

Fun! Date night ;) We haven't been to a movie since Wall-E came out. So, what's the agenda? I hate that Hollywood thinks they have to put that kind of stuff in kids movies. Why can't they just be for fun and nothing else?

Well, you know what movie I'm wanting to see :) Twilight hits the theaters in less 3 days!! Woohoo :)

Thanks for you input on my blog. I find it interesting as well. Hope you're having a great Tuesday!

There was defintely a running message in Madagascar 2, but I liked the movie.

I can't really think of any movies I want to see, but I think that's mainly because I don't watch TV and I don't know what's coming out in the next month or so.

BTW....about the job.....they hired someone else. It really knocked the wind out of me, but I know who holds the future and that obviously wasn't the job for me.

I am totally excited to watch all the made for tv Christmas movies starting up. They are the same ones every year but I watch them any way. I also want to see Get Smart with Steve Corell. It looks lighthearted and silly like a James Bond spoof.

Awww....so nice you had a date night that is good to do! I want to see Fire Proof, we keep hearing about how good it is from everyone who sees it.

FAMILY DATE!!

I am DYING to see Marley and Me, which comes out Christmas Day. We have a yellow lab that looks so much --and acts so much -- like Marley, that I KNOW we'll get a big kick out of it!

BTW: I can't seem to find the "comment" button on your blog lately (maybe since you last switched formats?) from my computer at work... so I read it, laugh, etc., but then I can't POST anything. It's so frustrating! If I don't get a chance to log on from home in the evening, I don't get to comment. I'm sorry! I'm always, always reading, though, and thinking how amazing you & your family are!

Movies are up to $9 now? Wow! Can you tell I haven't been to one for awhile? But I was planning to go next weekend. I better remember a trip to the ATM first!

I have to admit I don't recall what agenda you are thinking of but that might just be because I didn't love it and wanted it to be over. But we enjoy going out to the movies with the little guy so it's not about me. The 1st one was so much better and I was so over the "you got to move it move it." Sorry, I must be cranky :)

How nice to have a movie date with your son. We never go to movies and so don't even have a clue how much it costs anymore. The movie does look cute but I do know what you mean by pushing an agenda as it seems that more and more kids movies are doing that.

I want to see Fireproof and I would like to take Kaeden to see Madagascar 2. I have yet to take him to a movie at the theaters - I hope he does well!

I heard it was cute, but I agree, $9.00 bucks? Especially for a cartoon. My town used to have a "cheap" theatre that showed movies that had been out for a couple of months but it was only like $2.00 to go. I miss that theatre.
I'm off to see the new Bond movie tomorrow afternoon. I've heard it's so, so, but he's so, so hot as JB, I would probably sit through most anything he was in. :)
