The blessing of our Bible Study

We go to a nice church. A BIG church. Sometimes, it is easy to NOT get involved.

This year, when they started talking about small groups and we couldn't find one that fit into our schedules perfectly we decided to skip it. We were fine with that. You know how busy September and October are anyway, right?

Well then, one Saturday, at our neighborhood block party, I met the nicest girl. She told me she goes to our church. She and her husband just happened to be hosting a small group during the fall. "Would we like to join?" How could we not go when it was meeting just a few doors away? We decided to give it a whirl.

Last night was a such a blessing. You know those blessings that just come out of the blue? We were both so tired! I had to scramble for babysitting. Gary didn't even get supper. We weren't expecting much.

It far exceeded our expectations. I am so thankful. I can't wait to read the book. Have you read it? God is so good. ALL THE TIME!

Check out this story about how this book saved lives. Amazing!

Yes, I have had read that book. It was very good. We did it in a small group a few years ago. We ended up helping a older couple clean their house and got them some help. They were disabled. It was so cool to see God working through our whole church. when you allow him to use you he will for sure. I love the first line in the book. "It is not about you" Is that correct. That is a hard concept to take especially in this day and age. So true though. When you think of Him in everything you do, you know who you are living for. Thanks for the comments!!!

I have not read the book, but I have heard great things about it. And I do remember that story of the girl being held hostage. (Thank goodness she was ok)
Glad you found a group for you both. Sounds wonderful.
I laughed out LOUD to your comment about me being a good mom because of all I do AND hiding the toothpaste. you are soo funny and cute. Hugs

I am glad that you found such a wonderful group of people and I shall remember the title og the book.
Thanks for your visit to my blog. on June, 3rd I sent in three stories, I wrote about a Norwegian troll family. They are written for children. Perhaps Kaishon likes them too.

I haven't read the book but I have seen Rick Warren on many TV interviews. He is right on.
His church is here in Orange County and it's huge! The smaller groups sound good.

I have read the book, listened to it on tape actually, and found so many good thoughts that help with the everyday Christian life. I went out and bought the book, but haven't reread the whole thing yet.

I read the book, it's easy to get caught up in all Warren's "feel goodness/new agism." I would suggest another book to read either after or along with it "deceived on purpose."."

Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm honored when people decide to check me out based on a comment on someone else's page...anyways...Yes! God is GOOD ALL THE TIME! Isn't it amazing that we lose our 'faith in God'. We talk about how we know God always has great plans for us and always wants the BEST for his children, yet we allow our expectations to be so low sometimes. His grace is even more amazing when we're blessed with such surprises as your small group meeting the other night. We, too, have just joined a small group, and consider it and every member, a God-send! Blessings! I look forward to reading more!

Good to meet you guys at the study! It should be a good one! We have the same dillema with childcare, and we're often running right from work to group (so we're a little out-of-sorts when we first arrive) but it's well worth the effort.

We did Purpose Driven Life with our congregation in small groups a few years ago and loved it. It truly is inspirational!
Good job on finding a small group too. They are so instrumental in helping support each other in everyday life!
Have fun!
