Beauty and the Beast

Kaish and Sabria and I went to see Beauty and the Beast at a local theatre last Sunday. The kids loved it. They thought clapping at the end of every scene was fun! It was a great experience. I am glad we could go! Afterwards we went to see Aunt Luella in the nursing home. Going to see Aunt Luella has been one of their favorite things this summer. They laugh and giggle as many of the elderly people follow them around. One lady likes to give them kisses which delights them to no end. I love that Kaishon and Sabria are able to share their love and happiness with dear people who are sometimes sad and lonely! Aren't they they best kids in America? : )

Sabria and Kaishon have had some pretty memorable adventures this summer! They seem to get along quite well too.
Visiting nursing homes is something every child should do at least once a month. Can you imagine what joy would come of such a thing? And the abuse level would tank!
I used to bring my dog in to see my mother. All the other patients used to ask to see my dog. Of course my dog loved getting up on their beds and "kiss" them. Little did they realize he was cleaning their teeth! I know, thats gross, but it's true!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I'll try to read through some of your archived blogs this week, but I wanted to comment on this blog.

I love that you took the kids to the nursing home. My best friend from high school worked for years as a charge nurse in a nursing home and so many residents got few, if any, visitors. Children are the perfect type of visitors, too!

I look forward to reading more and learning more about you!

Well, after my two, they are definitely the best kids in America.

I love nursing homes. We have so much to learn from the elderly, even those whose wits may not entirely be with them.

In the spring my daughter and I deliver daffodils to our local nursing home. The ones who are somewhat coherent just can't get over the flowers, and they love my daughter (I, on the other hand am chopped liver).

You have beautiful children.

That looks like it would be so fun to go to! I really want something like that to be part of my family vacations in the next couple years!

Absolutely ... what a precious gift they are giving to others and receiving themselves through this act of love and kindness! You are an awesome mom, Becky!
